I bought one with a 4 Gig capacity for $129 at Fry's Electronics.
With the larger capacity devices, you might want to be sure you are buying a "Thumb Drive" or "USB Key" that uses flash memory, and not one that uses a tiny internal micro-drive.
Flash memory has the advantage of no moving parts, whereas the little micro drive units that are also available in 2-4 gig sizes, have actual little hard drives in them.

"Even as the number of US soldiers killed in Iraq reached 2,500,"
Freeking idiots can't even report this right.
The number killed is still less then 2000 !
The 2500 is the number who have died by accidents, heart attacks and other ailments etc..

funny part of all this is how liberals still declare that Zarqawi's death meant nothing.
To: Enchante
it does appear that great progress continues to be made since the happy death of al-Zarqawi. It sure does look that way.

No sooner were the revelations about the Al-Qaeda documents reported on ABC News this evening that we immediately heard claims of "some who questioned their authenticity." There was no religious language included in the translated text, which was supposed to be a hallmark of Al-Qaeda's correspondence.
The MSM really hates good news for our side. And the past week has been a MONSTER JAM for the good guys.
God Bless Our Troops! They have sacrificed so much and it is finally starting to pay off now.

I have one of these. It's a Swiss Army knife with a file/screwdriver blade, scissors, and a 2 gigabyte thumb drive (enough to hold about 2000 copies of the Bible). The memory chip part pops out so you can take it on an airplane. There is also a tiny LED flashlight and a ballpoint pen. Every week, I back up my most important computer files to it. They are always with me on my key chain. It's one slick little device.

I love that thumb drive. Does it fold into the knife housing like the blades?
What will those Swiss think of next?

I love that thumb drive. Does it fold into the knife housing like the blades? Yes. And unlike many thumb drives, the USB connector is totally covered and protected.

I can see why people would want one of those. Put information on it for business or whatever and just bring the thumb drive with you. What will they think of next....
A 500 pound laser guided concussion bomb which kills everyone inside the building but leaves the computer equipment intact.

I guess zarqawi never heard of
EncryptOnClickWhich makes me think of a scenario when torture would work. McCain and the other Enemy Reps in America are always talking about how "you can never be sure if the info you get from torture is any good".
Scenario:
Zarqawi (or some other dirt-bag) captured alive. With his flash-drive. The military or police authorities have strong evidence that flash drive contains the geographic location of a ticking nuke, somewhere in a US city. But the data on the flash drive is encrypted with 256 bit. The only way to unencrypt is get the password.
You've got a computer, you've got the flash-drive in the computer, you've got the password prompt dialog box open, you've got the dirt-bag on the torture rack next to the computer. When the dirt-bag gives you the right password, you will see the result immediately. If the password he gives you fails, you apply more torture and repeat the question. Now, maybe he's strong enough to take it and never gives you the right password. But if he does give you the right password, you'll know it, immediately.
Therefore, this is a scenario in which torture is a) absolutely justifiable, b) potentially effective, c) most likely the only method that will work, and d) instantly and totally verifiable.

Instead of making fun of your computer illiteracy, I'll inform you that they also make thumb drives with built in fingerprint scanners for security although they are a little more expensive, at least they insure privacy.

We still must pay a visit to this waste of skin.
Jimmy Smits? I liked him in "Star Wars" and "West Wing" has been cancelled. /kidding
Sorry, but I don't know who he is other than a walking target. Anyone?
