Add this to the list of things that have gone right lately for President Bush: Americans appear to be drawing closer to his view on the immigration debate.
But that hasn't alleviated the squeeze on Republican candidates in the fall elections. A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll shows that the party's conservative electoral base remains at odds with broader public opinion on the issue, including sentiment of the nation's swelling Latino population.

Thanks. Oh, and here's a hint. I'm not a boy named su(sie). ;)

I prefer to send them a piece of Melba-Toast. They don't need help with the wall, they need help understanding their personal risk. Beside, Melba-Toast is cheaper to mail...so I can send a lot of it.
With regard to Latin American Marxists, intervention by the military may not be the best solution simply because of our other commitments. However, a few months ago, both the MSM and the Administration dumped on Pat Robertson when he suggested that we use some Cold War era tactics (assassination) to take out Hugo Chavez. Whatever you think of Robertson's other remarks and comments, he was right in this instance.
As for the Mexican army, build the wall and nail them if something happens.
Agreed. The more important matter is whether the Administration agrees, however.
This a 'hope for' article. Not even close to the truth of what the 'American People' think.
Was like during college when I worked on the roustabout crew in the oil fields digging ditches.
One of the guys had a bumper sticker on his truck that said "I told my mother that I was a piano player in a whore house. I don't want her to know I am oil field trash".
Nothing wrong with living in a mobile home or trailer.
What insult?
Propaganda
Didn't see the 'susie' at the end....guess that what happens when you get old and you have CRS. I can't wait until my DVD collection is new again--I'll finally have something to do.
I was just ribbing you. I do that kind of stuff all the time. I'm going to start blaming it on my age (been blaming it on being blonde, but I'm not anymore). ;)

What a load of BS. I wonder where they found these Americans? They sure aren't here on the front lines. (That would be Southern California.)
Let's put it all to a vote and let america decide...
Be forewarned!
Media and Bush/ Kennedy Using Lull in Debate to Attempt to Fool the American Public into Believing They are Winning
Polling Scheme is Latest in Dirty Tricks Campaign
Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal published poll results which, according to the Wall Street Journal, show the American people favoring Bush's amnesty plan (50%) over the House enforcement-only bill (33%). Poll results such as these (usually push polling designed to elicit a certain result) are used by the media to tout support for the Senate's amnesty proposal in hopes of discouraging the American people from demanding enforcement-only legislation.
We must make sure no one believes this misleading data. It is widely known that the majority of American's are in favor of enforcing our immigration laws to end illegal immigration. It is also widely known that the majority of American's do not support rewarding people who have broken our laws. We cannot allow polls like these to blur the clear line between special interest and public interest and skew the general sentiments of the majority of Americans.
Do not let the media fool you and do not let the media fool the House Leadership!
House Leadership is currently debating within its ranks what its next step on immigration reform will be. Below we have listed four key members of the House of Representatives. Please call these members' district offices today and Monday. Tell them that despite how the Bush Administration, Ted Kennedy and the mass media are distorting public opinion, you are calling to let them know that the American People want enforcement ONLY and enforcement NOW!
*Call these Members Friday, June 16 and Monday, June 19 and inform them that the American people want the House passed bill and you want enforcement NOW!
Don't Compromise Away our Future!
Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL)
Batavia District Office 630-406-1114
Dixon District Office 815-288-0680
Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH)
Butler County District Office 513-779-5400
Miami County District Office 937-339-1524
Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R-MO)
Joplin District Office 417-781-1041
Springfield District Office 417-889-1800
Judiciary Chairman James Sensenbrenner (R-WI)
Brookfield District Office 262-784-1111
Homeland Security Chairman Peter King (R-NY)
Massapequa Park Office 516-541-4225
This is pure propaganda...
The strange thing about the sudden lull is that it started right after Hastert's announcement the House will be holding hearings on the Senate scam. What's weird about it is there's been no followup in the media regarding that but instead they're still implying this big House/Senate showdown will going on anytime now.
