Poland Strikes Back Against Homosexual Education: Fires Teacher Responsible
By Peter J. Smith
WARSAW, June 14, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Minister of Education in Poland has sent clear messages in the past week that the Polish government will not tolerate the indoctrination of students with the homosexual agenda in Polish schools. On June 9th, the Polish Minister of Education, Roman Giertych, officially dismissed the Director of Polish In-Service Teachers, Miroslaw Sielatycki, for publishing Compass: a manual on human rights education with young people, and is now considering banning its distribution and sale.
"This Manual speaks about issues of the homosexual relations as being equal to the matrimonial relations between woman and man. The contents included in this Manual accept thesis that the prohibition of matrimonial homosexual relations and the adoption of children by homosexual couples may constitute an element of discrimination", Minister Giertych stated in explaining the firing of Director Sielatycki. He went on to emphasize, "Such contents are in contradiction to the core curriculum for general education; therefore they can not be, by any means, presented as methodological resources."
Minister Giertych, who is also a leader in the League of Polish Families and Deputy Prime Minister, has said in the past, "there is no room, nor will there ever be any room for homosexual activism within the school system in Poland on my watch." This stance sets Poland in direct opposition to the trend set by the European Union. The Minister of Education wants instead to introduce a subject on patriotic education, as opposed to promoting homosexual behaviours cleverly guised under the name of "Human Rights Education."
A sample of the "49 Practical Activities and Methods for Human Rights Education" in Compass shows role-play activities like "You are an unemployed single mother", "You are an Arab Muslim girl living with your parents who are devoutly religious people", "You are an HIV positive, middle-aged prostitute", "You are a 22-year-old lesbian." In one of the exercises, the group trainer encourages the youth to "burst balloons that represent symbols of oppression, discrimination and exclusion. After talking about sex, you may like to celebrate liberation using condoms instead of balloons!"
The Council of Europe blasted Poland's dismissal; the criticism, however, comes as little surprise since the same organization created the Compass program. "I do not understand how teaching tolerance can be grounds for dismissal," said Secretary General Terry Davis of the Council of Europe.
The Council of Europe secretary went so far as to suggest Poland must adopt its pro-homosexual propaganda. "I made it clear that the Polish government is free to decide whether it wishes to use Council of Europe material for human rights education, but if the teaching material is optional, the values and principles contained therein are certainly not," said Davis.
The non-optional "values and principles", which the Council of Europe outlines brazenly in Compass mean nothing less than indoctrinating young people to reject the fundamental role of the family in society and basic principles of sexual morality. As the Compass document says in the section titled "Let's Talk About Sex": "There is a hegemonic force which lies at the centre of the connection between sexual diversity and human rights, and which arguably operates to consistently marginalize equal access to human rights. That force is the institutionalised assumption that heterosexuality as 'naturally ordained' and therefore the 'normal' mode of expression of sexual desire. A constant theme in this process of marginalisation is the assumption that heterosexuality is 'natural' and therefore morally acceptable while other forms of sexual expression are 'unnatural' and therefore morally unacceptable."
Minister Giertych's concern for the safety of Poland if the aggressive homosexual agenda goes unchecked was validated yesterday as members of the Students' Initiative burned an effigy of the Minister, and unsuccessfully attempted to storm the building. Minister Giertych was able to escape unharmed.
Poland, the homeland of Pope John Paul II, is currently the strongest leader against the trend of pan-homosexualism that is dominating Europe and the European Union.

Ping
Well applause applause!
Where is the ACLU when you need them? LOL
Good for Poland. I wonder if the rest of europe will vote to relocate Poland off of the european contenant beacuuse they're so anti-gay, like America and all us homophobic conservatives. :) Could we swap Maine or Massachusetts for Poland? I wouldn't mind that.

I would. Only cuz am in Mass.
If Europe has a future, big IF, it's in Poland.
Thank you for the ping.
Very good. I expect Eurocrats and Human Wrongs (or sorry Human Rights -:))) defenders to attack Poland for "Homophobia" and other sins against Politically Correct Liberal-Socialist Orthodoxy.
Poland should stay firm against all the barrages if it doesn't want to go the way of the most Western European countries who got their native birth rate plunged by promoting Homosexuality as a Human Right among other things. Now we see unassimilated Muslims filling demographic vacuum with all the political, social, cultural and civilizational implications it entails.
Rejection of homosexuality is a normal reaction of healthy society who wants to self-perpetuate. We certainly certainly need to have more Catholic Poles than we need Jihadists -:))))
How I love Poland. Maybe instead of vacationing in some of the Western European hotspots, we should send some of our money their way.
"I made it clear that the Polish government is free to decide whether it wishes to use Council of Europe material for human rights education, but if the teaching material is optional, the values and principles contained therein are certainly not," said Davis. "
I like the logic of this Eurocrat--you can decide to teach our values or not, but they are "not optional".
It may sound too extreme, but I think it will be better for Poland to severe links with EU while staying within NATO.
EUrocracy is good for nothing except wasting tons of money and promoting the destructive social policies. If "Old Europe" wants to commit suicide, let them do it, but don't demand that others follow suit.
Krackow is a tourist bargain.
And I don't believe a word when the weasel of a Euro-bureaucrat says:
"I do not understand how teaching tolerance can be grounds for dismissal," said Secretary General Terry Davis of the Council of Europe.
Why they are so intolerant to the Polish core values? Because they have their agenda and regard the rest of us plain stuuuupid sheeple...
It's like swapping horse for hen... Poland is a huge country with about 40 million people, if memory serves.
But what a gigantic change in voting patterns would it bring to America! I love your idea more and more... :-))
Where is EU tolerance when people want to teach religion? Out the window! Good for Poland! Let's hope they're able to keep winning this battle before the EU finds a way to force them to rescind it. I have a feeling this will wind up in the EU Court.
