A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Sunsets and Sunrises.. ah, they produce sighs and amazed responses from us, paintings, poetry & songs from the artists of the world and are a photobugs glorious hog heaven !
Enjoy the pictures & share yours. I had about 75 in my stash & just am sharing a couple here. Also share your sunrise/sunset moments of joy or sadness
A melody & words from the musical Fiddler on the Roof - Teyves soulful offering.
Is this the little girl I carried? Is this the little boy at play? I dont remember growing older, When did they?
When did she get to be a beauty? When did he grow to be so tall? Want it yesterday when they were small?
Sunrise sunset, sunrise, sunset, Swiftly flow the days, Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers, Blossoming even as they gaze . . .
Sunrise sunset, sunrise, sunset! Swiftly fly the years, One season following another, Laden with happiness and tears . . .
One season following another, Laden with happiness and tears . . .
( sunrise, sunset, sunrise, sunset . . . )
Sunrise/Sunset(thanks Victoria!)
We could not have sunsets or sunrise glory without the sun. It is the most prominent feature in our solar system. It is the largest object and contains approximately 98% of the total solar system mass. One hundred and nine Earths would be required to fit across the Sun's disk, and its interior could hold over 1.3 million Earths. The Sun's outer visible layer is called the photosphere and has a temperature of 6,000°C (11,000°F). This layer has a mottled appearance due to the turbulent eruptions of energy at the surface.

It was a bush flying and fishing vacation, the last my guide gave before he retired. I'm sure he's still flying around up there though. Thanx for getting me added!

You have great pix on your profile page. Did you ever fish in Panama? I lived there a few years & the big deal was to get invited to the big fishing fun on the Admiral's Barge. It was a yearly contest. Most of us came for the fun, great food & the drinks! BUT, there were many die hard fisherman among the naval officers/spouses.
One year they teased me for NOT fishing & said I would get no further invites if I didn't fish for at least 10 minutes. I thru the line in & was jerking it up & down. All the fisherman were chastising me & "correcting" me until the pole just about pulled me in. I had snagged in eye(I still feel badly about that) the largest fish of the day & won the contest & 500 dollar prize.

It was 60 something kbs.. I dont think that is too big. (but I know others might). I think too big gets in the over 100 category & some folks post pix in 300 range.. now that is BIG

I've been through the canal 3 times delivering yachts from the east coast to the west coast and from the west coast to the east coast, and fished the whole way (except in the canal, lol). Congrats on the prize fish!
