Michael Berg is a pacifist. Pacifists believe in peace but in practice enable evil because they believe ALL use for force is wrong. In their world view, its better to let a thousand innocents be murdered than to kill one Abu Musab Al Zarqawi for taking their lives. They believe their moral superiority is better than other people's imperfections. In their certitude, people like Michael Berg are a threat to every human being on the planet. Because they are idiots who would allow terrorists to kill us all without our being able to stop them. That in a nutshell, is what a pacifist program would do in the real world: it is in short, a program of unilateral disarmament in the face of evil. Those on the Left who support it live in moral darkness.

How can a human being be glad that another human being is deadBecause he realizes that thousands of other human beings won't be butchered.

When i saw him on TV, i told my wife that he seemed more upset that he who shall not be named was dead than his own son

Berg is a mind-wiped tool of Democrat Socialist indoctrination. If you were able to get just a piece of him you'd be able to mix up a few hundred cups of Democrat-flavored fruit drink out of it. It gets really fun when they ask Rachel Corrie's parents over.
For the record - a pacifist is a person who never had to fight for their life or suffer atrocities committed on their loved ones. There's no way I could understand any "forgiveness" for the animals who killed their children no matter how convoluted.

It probably takes a lot of education to counter natural urges and inclinations toward survival. Berg is not an aristocrat of the spirit who throws away his life for a noble principle, but a pauper, who's life is a meaningless shell. But then is it really? When he has the cameras pointing a him it seems that he, like Cindy, would kill for the attention.

"Zarqawi felt my son's breath on his hand as held the knife against his throat. Zarqawi had to look in his eyes when he did it. George Bush sits there glassy-eyed in his office with pieces of paper and condemns people to death. That to me is a real terrorist." That is an amazing display of insanity....honestly, what f'n planet could someone like MB have come from? His own son's death on the internet, slow, staged, horrible all while shouting praise to some weird god...and he still gives zark the high ground!?!?!!

This berg is one sick man. The scary part is all the play the leftist MSM is giving him.

It gets really fun when they ask Rachel Corrie's parents over. Wasn't Rachel Corrie that wench that threw herself under an army bulldozer somewhere in Gaza or the West Bank? Quite a different death than Berg's....
And what about her parents? Are they pacifists, too? If they are, I'm curious whom do they forgive for their deranged daughter's demise: the Palis, the Shalom Ahshav idiots, or the IDF?

Yes; she was. Their parents share the rampant California mental dysfunction known as artificial revulsion/self-imposed guilt for non-deserved actions...aka Liberalism.

As David Horowitz has observed, environmentalists are really Marxists. They may be green on the outside but like a watermelon, inside they're a deep hue of red. These people believe in confiscating everything we have for the common good. Behind their so-called concern for Mother Nature is an unbridled desire to have the government run every aspect of our lives. That's the real meaning of the Green Party agenda.

If someone walked up to Michael Berg with a gun, club or knife and tried to kill him, would he resist or fight back to save his own life?
If he would fight to save his own life, why wouldn't he fight to save another life. If he won't fight to save his own life, that means that people are free to kill with impunity. Would he have no police?
Does he think that everyone will cheerfully obey all laws and behave perfectly nicely? What do you do with the ones that don't? How do you get them to STOP if they don't want to? Do you force them to stop killing, stealing, assaulting or do you just talk nicely and slowly to them to please stop? And if the nice words don't work?,......
Michael Berg is not connected to reality. He abets evil and violence by his refusal to do anything to stop it.
Can he distinguish between good and evil? Or is everything all the same to him? He can make no distinctions?
If some people didn't fight evil, there would be chaos, a total breakdown of society and life. You wouldn't be able to walk down the street, you'd have to fight every inch of your way.
All "liberals" and "pacifists" think words are reality. They think that talk is the solution to everything. That's why they're all "intellectuals" who produce nothing except words and more words. They never do a single lick of work that actually produces anything.

Man, that is one of the best aphorisms I have read.

I think that it is from Benjamin Franklin. My favorite quote is from John Stewart Mill, and should be tattooed to Berg's forehead before he is deported:
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
