BAGHDAD, Iraq -- An Iraqi man who was one of the first people on the scene of the U.S. airstrike targeting Abu Musab al-Zarqawi said he saw American troops beating a man who had a beard like the al-Qaida leader.

The witness, who lives near the house where al-Zarqawi spent his last days, said he saw the man lying on the ground near an irrigation canal. He was badly wounded but still alive, the man told Associated Press Television News.

U.S. troops arriving on the scene wrapped the man's head in an Arab robe and began beating him, said the local man, who refused to give his name or show his face to the camera. His account could not be independently verified.

It`s true...I`ll never forget a couple years ago when out on "Lawn Goyland" I was reading Newsday at a train station and came across a story of a vet who came back to L.I. after losing one of his feet, I believe from a IED. Newsday saw it fit to call him a hero in the headlines, only in quotes though...Long Island "hero" returns from Iraq. I guess writing the word hero without those quotes was just too painful for Newsday.

Now the MSM and the Demwits will run with this story because they cannot stand to see anything good come out of Iraq as long as we have a Republican President.

Sounds like a typical solid MSM drive-by-media source...

- refuse to give name     hmmm...
- refuse to show face     hmmm...
- no independent verification     hmmm...
- anti-American statement     Check! We have a source!

I heard on the radio yesterday that our troops had found 17 heads, all boxed up, near the house where Zarkawi had been hanging out.

MSM template - "Fake but Accurate!"

The MSM should be referred to as the FBAM - Fake But Accurate Media.

Vile American soldiers viciously beat Zarqawi as he lay helpless in the rubble. An anonymous witness swore it was true on a stack of Qu'rans. Someone needs to stake out a place of moral outrage on this thread and demand that the miscreants be brought to justice.

. . . Or least hold the spot until the MSM can get an indignant response from Jack Murtha on behalf of liberals everywhere.

From a helicopter hovering above the site, a wide swath of destruction could be seen. There were no remaining walls in the house, The debris included a skimpy slip in a leopard skin pattern and other see-through pieces of women's clothing. In the crater itself were charred dresses..

The regular Zarqawi attire?

You know what? I watched that SOB saw Nick Berg's head off. I really couldn't care less if a couple of grunts 'maltreated' him. I'm just disappointed that they didn't pay him back in kind. F**k Zarqawi. *spit*

I suppose the Media wants us to be all upset about it. Guess again.

The morning I got on FreeRepublic and read that Zarqawi was dead, I knew we would be reading headlines like this in the MSM/driveby media quickly.

This is totally predictable for the terrorist enabling media and I fully expect the Rats in Congress will want an investigation based on fictitious anonymous allegations.

What I don't understand is how any of these pussbags sleep at night, it must be an acquired skill

This scumbag is very likely a terrorist and is playing straight out of the AQ play-book. Typical - "the Americans beat/tortured/humiliated/put panties on head crap that gains the attention of the MSM. pure BS propaganda that the MSM swallows whole.

I think it is terrible that the GI's would beat this man to death. There are far better ways to increase the amount of pain and prolong the agony than beating.

They should just announce that the guy who is claiming the beating took place is the guy that tippede them off to Zarquawi. Let him look over his shoulder for the rest of his life

No one with any standards would have even put pen to paper on this one.

Who are you?

I won't tell you.

Where are you from?

I won't tell you.

Can anyone else prove your claim to be true?

No.

Sounds good to me. STOP THE PRESSES!!!

So, we have a story from an un-named guy, with no face, who "lived nearby".

Oooookay. That's nice.

Say? since this guy knows so much ... Did anybody bother to ask this feller if he knew that he had $25,000,000 worth of thugs living next door?

Murtha? Is that you?

Maybe this is the same witness to the Duke Lacrosse incident, too.

But, even if true, so what?

A great campaign issue for the Dems. Vote for us, Murtha becomes majority leader. He'll hold hearings into the beating of a KOS, DU hero.

Murtha has to get reelected first. I suspect his talk of becoming the next Dem leader in the House is a campaign ploy to create the image that he is a mover and shaker within the party. He is facing the toughest reelection campaign he has probably ever had. He is getting free publicity.
