BAGHDAD, Iraq -- An Iraqi man who was one of the first people on the scene of the U.S. airstrike targeting Abu Musab al-Zarqawi said he saw American troops beating a man who had a beard like the al-Qaida leader.
The witness, who lives near the house where al-Zarqawi spent his last days, said he saw the man lying on the ground near an irrigation canal. He was badly wounded but still alive, the man told Associated Press Television News.
U.S. troops arriving on the scene wrapped the man's head in an Arab robe and began beating him, said the local man, who refused to give his name or show his face to the camera. His account could not be independently verified.

It's obvious this is BS - you wouldn't want to kill a guy who's on the edge and may have information you could use.
I think I just heard about this on FOX news...their guy in Iraq is working on the story- but can't find anyone to verify it..said it's unlikely.
Making it up as they go along- they're nuts.
This is one of the reasons why I do not believe the Marines did what they were accused of doing in Haditha. This is nothing new, Iraqis have tried this stuff before saying that women and children were killed in coalition strikes and when investigated it wasn´t true. Now the MSM and the Demwits will run with this story because they cannot stand to see anything good come out of Iraq.
(Denny Crane: "Every one should carry a gun strapped to their waist. We need more - not less guns.")
Oh man, it`s actually happening, just like Rush said. This is incredible... if Hitler himself was found to be alive they`d be screaming for Hitlers arse to be kissed, it never freggin` ends. "Why was Adolf punched? He is a very very old man and that is mean!"
More lies from the MSM.
Maybe this wandering bedoin misinterpreted their attempts to resusitate the fool. You know, pushing on his "chest"? Aim may have been a tad high.
Meanwhile, has anyone noticed that AlQ took over Somalia? Not cool.

Another famous Stone-age Press "source". Who to believe the 25 soldiers or a terrorist?
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
If it were true, it wouldn't bother me one bit.
Where's this witness from--Haditha?
Stuffed pork rinds in his fat mouth, too.
Did anyone see this NOT coming?
So..who cares. If true he was still treated better than those he slowly sawed the heads off of.
Wow! That didn't take long! IIRC, Rush said just yesterday that this was going to happen - the press was going to find some way to make Zarqawi look like a poor little victim of our evil military. Rush was right again.
Many people in the area of the safehouse are not friends of the new government in Iraq. Maybe the "witness" was the owner of the safehouse making up stories as many there are known to do to discredit the US and its allies. Many of us would question the testimony of the enemy, except the MSM. The MSM often sides with the enemy and welcomes, without question, any testimony detrimental to the USA. This would be sedition in the past.
this is why i love, admire, adore the MSM
Didn't take'em long to start with this. I've been expecting it.
This anti-American Quinn, posted quotes from one source that has no identity to even conceal.
