Dems Irked Over Zarqawi's Death
NewsMax.com ^ | June 8, 2006 | Carl Limbacher

Grassroots Democrats weighing in on several popular liberal web sites Thursday morning said that they were troubled by reports that al Qaeda's top operational terrorist, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, had been killed in a U.S. air strike.

Reacting to the news, one visitor to the Daily Kos complained that using military force to kill Zarqawi "violates everything my America stands for."

"It violates the rule of law and invokes the rule of force in what should be a criminal, not a military, matter."

Another Daily Kos'er was irked because he thought the news would benefit President Bush:

"No doubt Karl Rove will have the Sock Puppet President acting as if he personally dropped the bomb that killed that jackass," he wrote. "But other than a couple of photo ops of Bush looking cocky, it does nothing because two more tin-plated Zarqawi's will pop up."

A third Kos poster suggested that there was little difference between the top al Qaeda terrorist and the leader of the free world, writing: "Now [that] we are rid of one murderous tyrant - how about the removal of another one-believed hiding in a safe-house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?"

Over at the Democratic Underground, reaction to news of Zarqawi's death was also negative:

"Convenient too that this would happen now," complained one DU'er: "Guess we should just all forget about that Haditha mess, the fact that we are approaching 2,500 dead and the fact that our economy is in big trouble."

Another DU poster said that killing the al Qaeda chief really wasn't such a big deal, insisting: "Zarqawi was a fringe group of al Qaeda, and definitely NOT responsible for the bulk of the insurgency and civil war now occurring in Iraq. Any gains that they hope to receive will be short-lived when reality strikes home."

This should show this nation that Democrats are anti-American,cowards and support terrorism. The law and order they stand for is the law and order that protects them and not average Americans. These same Democrats and the ACLU have made it harder for Americans to walk in saftey on our own streets. They are bleeding die hard liberals that believe in survival of the fittest for the common man while hiding behind their gated communities and having police agencies to put everyone who trespass in their areas in jail. They manipulate the government at the common mans peril.

I wonder how long it will take Murtha to show up on TV and condemn our pilots for killing this thug.

I can't believe that al Zarqawi did not have other terrorists in the house with him. It's probably getting kind of crowed down there in Hell.

Sometimes it takes something like this for them to show us who's side they are really on.

Disgraceful.....

"Against American values" to take this murdering b*stard (to quote General Patton) out with a bomb? Would it have been against American values to put two 500-pound bombs on an isolated farmhouse if we'd found Hitler there? Or, Tojo? Or, Mussolini?

Apparently this Kos poster's basic "American value" is to remain as stupid as possible for as long as possible. How can people who know how to brush their teeth and put on their shoes in the morning possibly be this stupid?

P.S. New info. My primary is over, but because of legal and ethical problems, the incumbent may withdraw/be forced out. He is also losing in the latest poll (5/28) to the Democrat challenger. I seek to be the replacement nominee. For more information see my website. I still need your help.

"It violates the rule of law and invokes the rule of force in what should be a criminal, not a military, matter."

Was it a "criminal matter" when the planes hit the Trade Center? Was the bombing of the USS Cole a "criminal matter"? How about the Kobar Towers? How about the uncountable roadside bombs and beheadings? How are those "criminal" rather than military? What court rules on those offenses? What police do you send out to pick up a man surrounded by an army of mindless zealots? This ain't jaywalking, dipstick!

Unless you mean "criminal" in the broadest sense of the word, as in "The greatest criminal in the world is the exporter of socialism."

Hmmm...this guy's a complete and utter moron since I'm sure that George Washington and the other soldiers of the Continental Army would have had no problem greasing this piece of pig excrement if such a murderous thug had existed within their midsts during their lifetimes.

The Democrats had a lot invested in al Zarqawi. Now they are going to have to bin Laden and al Zawahiri for consolation.

I'd settle for one "bloated Mass. congressman" or a traitorus "Former-Vietnam-vet-Poodle".

"But of course we must never question their patriotism!"

It is a liberal tradition to re-define words to suit their purposes. As defined by liberals, patriotism now means hating your country. By this definition, libs are the most patriotic people around.

There are several posts on DU stating that Zarqawi never existed. He was a figment of the Pentagon's propaganda machine's imagination. And besides, Bush had the opportunity to kill this non-existent person before the war but didn't. Sigh.

All the Democrats will get all the time they want on the Sunday Shows to say the same thing - "This is a good thing, but the war is still horribly mismanaged, we are guilty of massacres all throughout Iraq and we need to get out now!"

The liberal in my office cubical is down in the dumps. When he came in I said with a jubilant smile on my face, " so we got Zarqawi", and he said; "so, does this mean our troops are coming home?"

Typical liberal, always has this dark cloud over his head, and can see no good news in anything.
