But he'll be replaced. And more of the same old, same old. That's what everybody has said... that the more of them you kill the more of them there are.
Interesting that it is turning out to just not be true. This "conventional wisdom" just isn't. Turns out that when you kill them, they stay dead, they lose momentum and it becomes harder for them to recruit, not easier. The idea of some infinite wellspring of jihadists is just not the case.

Shocking, isn't it?
A friend just called and is celebrating and wanted to talk with someone who knew the importance of this kill.

Correction:
Michael Berg on CNN MSNBC -- double sadness at Zarqawi's demise.
To: AliVeritas
Zarqawi will still be voting a straight Democrat ticket in November.

Good morning.
"You suppose the flag in front of the DNC has been lowered to half staffed?"
Have we seen any response at all from the DemocRATs? How about a scratchy audio tape from OBL?
Not that I want to gloat or anything.

This guy has been the #1 face of AQ in Iraq for years and he is dead, the fact that he was apparently turned in by one of his own is also significant, the fact that it happened as the Iraq government was just finalized is significant.
Perhaps the largest fact is that they are already losing badly but our Driveby Media doesn't see fit to report the progress, this is progress, and they have to report it.
You sound like you buy into the spin that we are losing in Iraq. We aren't.

From what I've heard the President was told at about 3:00 pm yesterday. He was interupted during a meeting with Congresscritters. The President was told they think they got him and were doing the id tests to confirm.
As a weird coincidence note, I have read that at that Bush meeting with congressmen yesterday, Illinios Republican Ray LaHood told Bush we've gotta get Zarqawi. Moments later, news started to trickle in.

All this doom and gloom from the other side who will not see a victory when it stares them in the face will prove fatal for them in November. The question to ask is: Do you really want the left in charge of keeping you safe? The answer to that should resonate from the national level all the way down to the local level.
To: MozartLover
On his show this morning Bill Bennett played several times the reaction of Iraqi reporters when the Prime Minister made the announcement. They cheered and cheered. Maybe our correspondents should take a hint. It's ok to root for the good guys and against the bad guys.
