DAN Rather could be gone from CBS News by the end of the year. After months of negotiations, the former anchor - now a "60 Minutes" correspondent - has not been able to make a deal to remain with CBS - and is reportedly bothered that the network where he worked for the last 44 years does not seem to want him anymore.
Rather, whose contract expires at the end of this year, had hoped to finish his career as a full-time correspondent at "60 Minutes."
"But it doesn't seem like [CBS] wants him there" now, says an industry insider.

For all anyone cares, CBS might as well hire Anna Nicole Smith to do the news. At least people would tune in every now and then.

Oh, I wouldn't say it's completed, not with the colonoscopy cover girl coming on board.

Some people are all appearance and no substance.
When they start buying their own BS and take themselves too seriously, they are done for. This empty suit thought that he was as important as our elected leaders.
The only thing I will remember about this clown in a few years is, "What's the frequency, Kenneth?"

Just shut up Dan ....

Actually, they're already in the toilet..
You'll notice a porcelain bowl ring to anyone's voice at CBS....
That sound if their voice coming from the toilet.
The only question remaining - is how long before they're finally flushed.

Been so long since I've watched CBS, I thought he was already gone.
Of course, some might say he was "gone" a long time ago. :)

Aw, you beat me to it.
Someone ought to whip a fake but accurate CBS memo telling Dan, he gets to do a two hour news special every week.

Anderson Cooper? I thought he is with CNN. How come he is going to do "60 Minutes" reports according to this article?
