PETA TO ‘BARBECUE’ A ‘HUMAN CORPSE’ TO SHOW THAT MEAT IS MURDER
PETA Media Center ^ | June 6, 2006 | Mike Brazell

Posted on 06/06/2006 9:44:22 AM PDT by presidio9

Topeka, Kan. — Hoping to prompt Topeka’s lunch crowd into realizing that whether fish, foul—or even Frank!—a corpse is a corpse, PETA will slather a 10-gallon-hat-wearing effigy of a cowboy with barbecue sauce and pretend to cook "him" on a mock grill downtown tomorrow. PETA’s point? That all animals are made of flesh, bone, and blood, just as humans are, and that eating meat entails eating the corpse of an animal who was an individual with feelings, a family, and a distinct personality. In addition to the "human barbecue," activists will hold signs that read, "Meat Is Murder," and give out delicious vegetarian riblet sandwiches to curious passersby:

Date: Wednesday, June 7 Time: 12 noon-1 p.m. Place: Corner of S.W. Eighth and S. Kansas avenues

"People are understandably revolted by the idea of eating a human corpse, which is exactly why they should also lose their appetites at the thought of eating an animal corpse—to smell them cooking, you can’t tell the difference," says PETA Campaign Coordinator Mike Brazell.

You: Be a dog. Be a rat.
Now you're just being silly... They aren't even in the same ~genus~ we are.
"

Me: To suggest that human beings are animals is just as preposterous but again, be an animal. Take your pick. Wait, I know ... a CHIMP or an APE would suit you much better and it would fit into your ridiculous evolutionary hypothesis.

In any event, be whatever animal you'd like to be. Forget genes. If you were seriously concerned about genes you wouldn't think of yourself, a human being as BEING AN ANIMAL! LOL! Thanks for the laugh.

To PETA, and really all liberals, there is nothing more to man then the flesh. Therefore, having flesh makes us and the animals all equal.

This is why the fulfillment of all base urges are simply, "They way God made us", and not to be resisted. First Free Love, then GL Rights, now Pedophilia. Not much further to down from that is actual cannibalism, mayhem, and biblical style troubles.

Where did this guy smell people being cooked?

I can not answer for the person you question, but there are many people in the course of their work discover what a burnt human smells like.

Any fireman or EMT can tell you what a burnt human smells like. As far as that goes, most combat vets could as well. Then there are Doctors and Nurses in burn wards.

It is something you try to forget, but if you smell it again, you know what it is.

Why is People Eating Tasty Animals (PETA) picking on the poor cowboy?

Why not go with a winner such an effigy of Babs Streisand, Medea Benjamin or Ashley Judd?

If you weren't so paranoid about your place in the world you'd have a better ability to understand and appreciate similarities and differences within the animal kingdom. Concepts such as family, genus and species don't make you less ~human~. They ~ARE~ what defines you as ~human~.

You're either an animal, a mineral, or a plant. You can guess wrong, but that won't change the truth.

Me: Truth is certainly not your friend.

Animals are NOT equal to human beings.

It is precisely the genes, as wells as a few other OBVIOUS differences that differentiates human beings FROM animals.

Again, be an animal.

Hey, I hear there is a zoo in Europe where you can live in a cage and be treated just like a zoo animal. They too, view humans the same as zoo animals. Join them. Be their next feature attraction. Others need a laugh now and then too. Don't be selfish and restrict wild laughter at FR. Make some money and let others laugh at you too!

Maybe next week you'll think you're a mineral. Maybe after that you can be a plant. Then after that, you're back to square one again, an animal mineral or a plant.

As for me, I'm 100% HUMAN! :)

The sky is blue and all the leaves are green. The sun is warm like a baked po-ta-to.

And the food court at CU boulder is named after Mr. Packerd. I've eaten there many times.

Anthropophagy aside, if a vegan and a non-vegan were in a cold weather survival situation, the non-vegan who have a much better chance of surviving. In cold weather, fat is where it's at and meat is the the readiest source of fats you would likely be able to find.

But your friend sounds like he wouldn't mind wild meat, and smart enough to know that for his health, starvation is a more immediate threat.

I wonder of PETA has ever tried to reason with wolves or tigers or any such animal and ask them not to eat the corpses of other animals?

I've always really wanted to eat human flesh.

Is that so wrong?

I forget what disease that HUMAN BEING had. Was it elephantitis? The animal name of a terrible disease doesn't make the human an animal. I feel sorry for that person in the photo. I've seen it before. It's not funny either.

Anybody who was in downtown NY in the months of September and October of 2001 could definitely tell you what burnt human smells like.
