Welcome to the live thread for the California Primary Election. Polls are open until 8pm tonight. If you are a registered voter, it is your duty to vote and defend your rights and civil liberties, protect your pocketbook, and vote the bums out where applicable.
Feel free to discuss issues key to your local area that others may be interested in. Post your polling place experiences if you like. And post numbers as they come in later tonight.

IT a anti LA thing with the dumping, Mayor La Raza is going to sue when it passes.
To: onyx
It is confusing. I just don't think that they can know what percentage constitutes 13& of total ballots since no one knows how many actual ballots were cast.

You could easily change the B to an S, and it would be fake but accurate.

Last time I looked there was a lot more empty space to dump things in Kern County than in LASimple arrogance: You don't have the space, so we have to take your diseased and toxic sludge.
Can you even hear how selfish and arrogant you are???

I believe that's an estimate.

Unless they meant 13% of the absentee have been tallied.
I am so glad I have a splitting headache, so my mind has shut off.

Bilbray 51-43, absentees only.

This is extremely dangerous waste. It is seeping into our ground water and it filters into the air we breathe. This is why this entire mess is being watched throughout the nation.
We deal with an overflow of the worst of LA all of the time: We're tired of it, and this issue is life-threatening.

They are above, 50-42 Bilbray. Bilbray I suspect will win by 4%. The reason is above that. The numbers are above.

why absentees only? that's not a great margin for absentees...

WHAT IS HAPPENING IN CA 50?
There hasn't been any update on the official San Diego County elections results website (
http://www.sdvote.org/election/primary.xml) since 8:20PM Pacific. The reported results include absentee ballots only. I guess they're still counting.
To: onyx
The Rats are holding off the results so they can stuff as needed. Happens in all close races.
To: onyx
There were about 260,000 votes cast in 2004 between Busby and Cunningham. There are already about 40000 votes cast thus far absentee. So I believe that 13% is an estimate of total votes to be cast tonite.

The abentees received prior to today come in, in one dump for each county. They were counted before the polls closed usually, or are counted first. The 50th CD is all in San Diego County.

Did you see my post upthread to JulieRN (from Florida) about the head of the U.S. Secret Service being appointed by President Bush to now head the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol?

San Diego typically posts only absentee results until about 10pm. We should be getting some actual count soon.
To: lone star annie
I've never known San Diego County to have that problem and I lived there all my life until last year.
