To: conservative in nyc

This is extremely dangerous waste. It is seeping into our ground water and it filters into the air we breathe. This is why this entire mess is being watched throughout the nation.

We deal with an overflow of the worst of LA all of the time: We're tired of it, and this issue is life-threatening.

I doubt the Kern County proposition will survive a court challenge from L.A. County, unless the U.S. Supreme Court overrules or somehow distinguishes this type of waste from the type of waste exported in past cases. The Court's decisions have been pretty clear in the past - states can't stop other states from exporting their waste without violating the Constitution's Commerce Clause.
