We tried unsuccessfully today to oust US Rep Bennie Thompson in the primary. He's such a racist, but he won decisively.

Dems always say that.

The fact is that they did outspend Republicans.

It's also a special election, which is usually low turnout by Reps/Conservatives.

On a day the Dems choose their Governor.

In a district where the Republican was convicted which is why the seat is open.

Dems should win. A loss by any margin is terrible for their prospects in a year where GOP base voters are upset as well.

The key issue of this race was illegal immigration. This races goes Bilbray that's a big referendum on the issue's ability to protect a seat under the advantages Dems had going for them.

Can thank the Minutemen, Busby's stupidity, and Bilbray's position on illegal immigration if he wins.

Thanks onyx!

You know what bothers me? I have to absentee (no polling place) but I always feel my vote is counted waaaay after the fact. I would rather just get out and vote!

SoCal, you here? Got the radio on?

Read what "Moral Hazard" is saying up there. He has no argument...just insinuations about my motives.

...like the health of my children and grandchildren isn't MOTIVE enough.

"We choose to live in a less populated area because we feel that the quality of life here is better: Shipping in LA's filthy sh*t into our community lowers the quality of our life."

Except that the "filth" is sent to private farms. How did you get the right to tell a farmer how we can fertilize his crops just because he lives near you?

Pulling for Bilbray here.

So which lib outlet to watch all the hand-wringing and double-talk about Busby's defeat being a great victory.

Actually, her defeat will be better than actually winning the office!

I'm thinking Chrissy Matthews might be the fun one to watch. Maybe he'll have another psychotic episode.

Properly written zoning laws and health/environmental regulations.

Indeed and I hope they are listening inside the DC beltway!

And God Bless that Minuteman....he's a great American!

I rarely voted absentee, for the very reasons you stated.

socalpol is on the local thread. She needs to get over here....lol.

I will be in San Diego from July 19 - 31.

Jim told me to try to plan another FR trip to RWR's Library while I am in CA. This time, we can see Air Force One!

The FILTH seeps into the water table.

DUH.

The filth dries and floats into the air, and we breathe it.

I see that you do not argue the danger of this. Keep it yourselves.

The owner of the Filth Farm's rights end where my rights begin. This "waste" is not rendered harmless. It is toxic. The danger does not end at the end of the land on which this dangerous stuff is dropped.

If it is safe, put it in the neighborhood of your children.

The poll also had the primary tied at the time.

Tester is a good bit to the left of Morrison, but lacks the ethical concerns.

Hard for me to necessarily predict how this plays out in the long-term election scheme at present.

"Properly written zoning laws and health/environmental regulations."

I always find it amusing how some people believe is small government and freedom until their neighbor uses his freedom in a way they don't like.

Thank you, but I have such a splitting headache, it's all I can do to read all the comments here while I am listening to Roger online. I cannot go to bed until I am certain Brian has won.

That's the poll, thank you.

When the MoveOn crowd is backing Tester in Montana, then so am I.
