"PALESTINIANS CLAIM WMD CAPABILITY"
You are welcome, Cindy! :-)
Snip: London police said on Monday they had reviewed procedures for handling sensitive intelligence after an officer's bag containing equipment and documents was lost in a London street.
The Guardian newspaper reported that the lost knapsack contained details about alleged bomb plots and suspects identified for surveillance.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said a bag belonging to an officer from specialist operations - the branch responsible for anti-terrorism and diplomatic protection - had been reported missing on June 10. It contained a police radio, handcuffs and chemical spray, as well as documents.

Algeria: 19 Militants Killed In Police Operation
ADNKI ^ | June 26, 2006 | AKI
Posted on 06/26/2006 6:36:34 PM PDT by RDTF
Algiers, 26 June (AKI) - Algerian police killed 19 Islamic militants who rejected a government amnesty aimed at ending years of conflict following a civil war in the 1990s, reports said on Monday. Police reportedly raided on Sunday bases of the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), which has sworn allegiance to al-Qaeda, in the eastern province of Annaba. The operation followed an upsurge in attacks by Islamic fundamentalists this month which killed 31 people.
Unlike some other Islamic militant groups, the GSPC has refused to give up the armed struggle in exchange for an amnesty offered by president Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
The amnesty, which came into force in February and will expire next August, gave Islamic militants six months to surrender and get a pardon, provided they were not responsible for massacres, rapes or bombings of public places.
Algeria's civil war started in 1992 when authorities canceled a parliamentary election that radical Islamists were poised to win. The conflict cost up to 200,000 lives.

Thief gets away with 3,000 gallons of fuel
09:33 PM CDT on Monday, June 26, 2006
Police are searching for a person who managed to get away with 3,000 gallons of gas after they cut the locks off an underground tank early Monday morning at a station in the 1400 block of West Hurst Boulevard in Hurst.
Latif Abdul discovered the crime when he got to his station about 5:00 a.m. and a fuel tank monitor warned him a tank was low. He printed out a record that confirmed a sudden loss of 87 octane fuel about 2:45 a.m.
"It shocked me," Abdul said.
Abdul's customers were surprised as well.
"Man, that's crazy," said one customer. "So, how did they do it?"
Hurst police said they believe the crook needed specialized knowledge and equipment such as a large tanker truck. However, they said they have never seen a case like this one.
Contrary to popular opinion, Abdul said he only makes a couple of pennies a gallon on gas. He works seven days a week and makes a living mainly off store sales.
He said the stolen fuel will cost him about $8,000.
"It's going to take me at least five to six months to pump the gas to make that kind of money," he said.
Two years ago, someone beat up a driver and stole a whole tanker load of gasoline from a depot in Southlake. Police never solved the case.
Hurst investigators said they have few clues on this case as well.

For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary

Statement by the President Marking Ten Years After Attack on Khobar Towers
Ten years ago yesterday, in an attack on the Khobar Towers apartment complex in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, 19 members of our Armed Forces were killed, and hundreds of other Americans were injured, by terrorists who we believe were working with Iranian officials. We honor the courage of those who paid the ultimate price in defending our country. America will carry on the legacy of these fallen heroes by continuing the mission for which they gave their lives: defeating tyranny, defending freedom, and protecting their fellow citizens.
Laura and I offer our prayers and the gratitude of this great Nation to the families who lost loved ones in that brutal attack. These families can know that their loved ones will always be remembered and that we will remain determined in our efforts to bring to justice those responsible for this attack.
In remembrance of those who lost their lives ten years ago, I ask Americans to keep their families in your hearts and your prayers.
