Iran 'will never negotiate with US'

IRAN will never negotiate its nuclear program with the United States, its oil minister said in a television interview while in Venezuela for an OPEC meeting.

"We are never going to negotiate the nuclear fuel cycle, which we were able to obtain through the efforts of our country's scientists," Oil Minister Kazem Vaziri-Hamaneh told Telesur overnight.

The Iranian minister downplayed a US offer to join direct talks with Iran if Tehran halts uranium enrichment activities.

Mr Vaziri-Hamaneh called Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice's announcement, which marks a major US policy shift, "words that US officials always repeat".

"To underscore our commitment to a diplomatic solution and to enhance the prospects for success, as soon as Iran fully and verifiably suspends its enrichment and reprocessing activities, the United States will come to the table with our EU colleagues and meet with Iran's representatives," Ms Rice said in Washington yesterday.

Mr Vaziri-Hamaneh said reports by international inspectors that Iran's nuclear program shows no sign of being diverted for military applications are the "best guarantee" of the peaceful nature of the program.

Soaring oil prices were due to the "constant threats of the United States" against Iran, he said, adding that high cost of oil worries for members of the oil cartel.

Ministers of the 11-nation Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries meet in the Venezuelan capital today, a day after the US issued its historic offer to hold direct talks with Iran over Tehran's nuclear plans.

The offer took the sting out of oil prices, with markets already reassured about OPEC's intentions to keep output levels steady.

The oil market has been convulsed for weeks by the threat of UN sanctions against Iran, which after Saudi Arabia is the second-biggest oil exporter in OPEC.

However, Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki already rejected the condition placed by the US, saying: "We support dialogue in a fair and unbiased atmosphere, but we will not talk about our undeniable and legitimate rights, because this is the right of our people according to international laws and treaties."

Allow me to translate:

However, Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki already rejected the condition placed by the US, saying: "We support nuclear jihad in a straightforward and relentless manner, but we will not hesitate to use any deception, stalling, double-speak, and outright lies necessary to lull the decadent Western infidel into either death or dhimmitude."

The issue is not nuclear fuel. They are burying the real issue under story after story about nuclear power plants. They are both Iran and the MSM.

1.We need to ask him if he is ready to take full responsibility for anything that happens to his country as a result of his resolve.
2. Give him something to take responsibility for.
3. Ask him again
4. Destroy his personal home.
5. Ask him again.
6. Destroy something else close to him.
7. Give him one last opportunity to rethink his resolve.
8. Advise everyone in Iran to stay clear of Tehran for their own safety.
9. Wait

oh...and what's with this "because this is the right of our people according to international laws and treaties. B.S.?

Since when did Iran ever give a hoot about laws & treaties? Their only attitude is that laws & treaties were made to be broken. Unless of course some crackpot imam living in cave claims that Allah just "gave" him a bunch of "Islamic" Laws & Treaties.

I wish these people would die from simple stupidity...

A great movie about the future with SAGE advice to the past. It is the only way to be sure and it is not the only place we need to be sure about.

The islamic regime in Iran has been an international outlaw since taking an embassy hostage 26 years ago in violation of the most ancient law of nations. If there really were a system of international law - instead of the law of the jungle, which really reigns there - nobody would be talking to these clowns and they'd be embargoed 100%.

Precisely. Do you suppose the lefty UN lovers will give us a pass to move on to that option, now that Iran has publicly declared that it will never negotiate? Or will they still demand that we undertake endless attempts to "resolve the dispute through diplomatic means"?

The Iranian regime is full of something other than itself. Didn't its President write a letter offering to talk with the U.S.? All of this is posturing by the Iranian regime, until it gets its nuclear bomb. Everyone in Iran can figure this out, so I don't see why it's so difficult for other governments to do so.

In the real world their money and oil talk.

We aren't really expecting the Iranians to capitulate, nor
for the EU, China and Russia to back us.

What I do hope we are waiting on is for the Big BLU development, testing and production run to conclude and for
successful qual on the usual strategic platforms..
