WASHINGTON, June 1 (Reuters) - A U.S. military inquiry into whether Marines tried to cover up the killings of Iraqi civilians in Haditha will conclude that some officers gave false reports to their superiors, who then failed to scrutinize the information, according to a newspaper report on Thursday.
The Washington Post, citing an unidentified Army official, said the three-month investigation was also expected to call for changes in how U.S. troops are trained for duty in Iraq.
The investigation is one of two ongoing military probes into the Nov. 19 killings of 24 men, women and children in the town of Haditha, 125 miles (200 km) northwest of Baghdad in an area that has seen much activity by Sunni Arab insurgents.

Un-freaking believable.
But entiirely believable that the newsies would pick and choose quotes to suit their purposes.
There is no honor or honesty among thieves and in this case the international MSM cabals stink with corruption and treason.
BTTT
Wish they'd hurry with them.
I am restraining myself on this, but I'm getting angrier by the minute.
Were the 'victims' Muslim?
A Marines job is to kill the enemy.
Future suicide bombers eliminated. If any of those Marines were my son or relative, I'll be damned if I'd want him prosecuted for doing his job.
I have a simple take on all of this.
In war- surrounded by the enemy- our soldiers are always right. ALWAYS. Even in mistakes or 'unfortunate' incidents.
Thanks for the ping!
When is it right to convict someone in the press and have congressmen applying undue official influence to taint any possible verdict?
Answer: when it is the US Military, and the politicians are democrats and the press is the mainstream media, and the target is the American War Effort.
T6, ping to Tonk's post #38.
I don't think thats how it is supposed to work. *If* the Marines involved intentionally killed unarmed women and children then they should be punished.
We disagree.
When the enemy deals in black and white, insisting on gray is suicidal.
I've said nothing on this subject because I know my opinion would be disliked. It's still my opinion.
Islam is our enemy- globally. I consider all Muslims the enemy. Period. Unfortunately, the government doesn't agree with me.
So we'll prosecute our soldiers and the enemy wins if they kill our soldiers- and they win if our soldiers kill them.
My sympathy for ANY Muslim on this planet is less than zero.
Call me what you will-I'm not the only person who feels this way either.
The news media have so disgraced themselves that is has become un-American to watch them.
Thanks. I prefer to think that our Marines acted properly in this manner. If it is anything, I believe they might have been unaware of the actions of or covering up for some Iraqi soldiers.
