... Snow said that he has been assured by the Pentagon that "all the details" will be made available...
Rep. John Murtha... has said Marines shot and killed unarmed civilians in a taxi at the scene and went into two homes and shot others.
On Tuesday, [Snow] said President Bush learned of the killings only after a reporter from Time magazine asked questions...
Asked when Bush was first briefed about the events in Haditha, an insurgent stronghold in western Iraq, Snow replied Tuesday: "When a Time reporter first made the call."
According to the attorney for one of three Marine Corps officers relieved of command from a Marine battalion are not targets of investigations into whether their troops killed the civilians or tried to cover it up.
Meanwhile, Lance Cpl. James Crossan of North Bend, Wash., who was injured in the roadside bomb attack in Haditha, told a Seattle television station that some of the Marines might have snapped after seeing one of their own killed in action.
"So, I think they were just blinded by hate ... and they just lost control," Crossan told KING-TV, which aired the interview Tuesday.
The targets... are about a dozen enlisted Marines, according to Hackett, a Marine reservist and Iraqi war veteran who represents Kimber... [Hackett] said the highest ranking among those under investigation is a staff sergeant who led the four-vehicle convoy that was hit by the bomb.
Kimber... was relieved of command last month because his subordinates... used profanity and criticized the performance of Iraqi security services during an interview with Britain's Sky News TV...
...Hackett told The Associated Press by telephone. "He's not under investigation for anything related to what has played out in the press." [snip]

Thanks Coop, I was looking for this answer.
Exactly. If only the Marines could have hidden the videotapes in a Congressional office.
Who do you think is doing the raising?
Concentration camps happened, too.
Wrong. Concentration camps were and are well planned operations. Very different from battle.
An associated question is, can we fight a war without press censorship? I doubt it.
In fact, I doubt that we can subject our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines to combat operations at all anymore without participation of the government and society to the degree that they participated in WW II.
Just my 2 cents.
"Their careers are over, and they will be branded as war criminals for the rest of their lives."
Yep, just ask Lt. Pantano.
Marine Lt. Pantano wrote this letter regarding his court marshal last year and the way Murtha has called our marines guilty of cold blooded murder before the ongoing investigation is complete.

And if I hear ONE MORE story associated or phrased in the
Type of Speeches I will personally Throw-Up ON Tony Snow.
What a Jerk.....
I'm not playing your games any longer. Military personnel in combat should always get the benefit of the doubt, especially in the heat of battle, but they know as well as anyone that they are accountable.
I know you aren't bashing Bush...but, I think he sealed those documents in order to keep them SAFE.
But, regarding you main point...it is a great one---our country's priorities are totally out of whack..
Election years do that...but, it is unacceptable.
I hear you LOUD and clear eeevil!!
Great Sight!! There J.A.N.!!
Article Explains alot!!
Now...where's the CONSERVATIVES Coming out PUBLICALLY SUPPORTING these Marines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He wouldn't be able to spin it to fit his agenda if he waited for the report
The military will finish the investigation and if something went bad .. they will deal with it and the people involved will be dealt with and have their day in court
In the mean time .. Murtha and the liberals want to paint the ENTIRE Marine Corp as bad and evil
That is what is most troubling to me. Hackett and Murtha and Kerry are 2 peas in a pod. Former vets, anti-war, trashing the president and war effort.
Now Hackett shows up allegedly representing one or more of these Marines under investigation. He is talking to the AP, he is good copy, says outrageous things. How can he be trusted to not push his personal agenda? Whoever hired him might be better served to ask for a lawyer from the Marine Corps.
Guidon.
2 1/2 hours, I remember one at Cherry Point where about fifty Marines passed out on the aircraft apron, at least you had something to hold you up, I passed out from locking my knees and the heat.
Ackk. meant to say: 3 peas in a pod = Kerry, Murtha, Hack(ett)
The president.
Thank you for realizing the point of my post and not jumping on me thinking I was bashing Bush....
you skeer me!
;-)
I think I've heard him say that he doesn't watch TV. I can't say I blame him. I don't watch it.
It is the wrong answer. You know how the MSM will spin that answer.
