Only hours after Iraqi civilians were killed, a second team of Marines was sent in to take the victims' bodies to a local morgue.
Lance Corp. Ryan Briones was among the Marines sent in to recover the bodies, and he told the Los Angeles Times he is still haunted by what he saw, including a young girl who was shot in the head.
"[The victims] ranged from little babies to adult males and females," Briones told the newspaper. "I can still smell the blood."
Briones says he and another Marine were told to photograph the bodies. Military officials say those photos which they say show people shot at close range in the head and chest clearly contradict initial reports that the civilians were killed by a roadside bomb.

Why do I picture the lame stream media sniffing the blood also? Except they're happy about it.

Tell that to the dozen Marines who may be prosecuted for various crimes, including murder. I had a problem with my GMC truck. No one should ever buy GMC trucks AGAIN. That is what an anecdote is, sinkspur.
Oh, and a friend of mine who is an experienced woodworker cut a real nice kerf in his thumb with a table saw.
No one should ever use table saws again.

I suspect I'll be throwing that in the face of Lefties jumping on a Haditha soapbox, shortly. Thanks.

"He had to carry that little girl's body," she said, "and her head was blown off and her brain splattered on his boots."
This is BS...you don't recover bodies by carrying them out in your arms. They are placed in a body bag prior to removal.
Smells like a 'Winter Soldier' article to me.

It ages us, no doubt, mystery. Terrorists tried to poison the water at my stepson's camp and were caught doing it and a truck bomb was stopped outside the camp. But we know they are the best at what they do.
I'm sorry you're going through this again; once seems enough, but blessings on your son for wanting to contribute.

The press could have destroyed the US military in WWII with easeIf Roosevelt, understanding war and its requirements, had not imposed press censorship, that is.

Some aHole, possibly, came into a Ville and saw some dead people, several hours later, some Marines were there, several hours earlier.
I never had the misfortune to smell blood, my own never had an oder that I remember, but I have smelled a few rotting Bodies aftter a few hours in the Sun, I don't see the connection.

Even if the worst is true which I don't believe, but if PravdABDNC is right, what does it prove? One incident in 4 years would be a record any military would be proud of.
These soldiers were in the middle of a battle and we do not know any of the details. This eye witness saw nothing of value. Innocent until proven guilty only applies to Rat Presidents apparently.
