"Enright's record shows that in 1983 he received a three-year deferred sentence. He claims he has since passed background checks to own the shotgun and the rifle that were seized by investigators on Wednesday. "
Dosen't the paperwork for a background check include some question like " Have you ever been convicted of a felony ? "

This is just BS. They are using whatever they can to nail this guy to make themselves look good. Something is going on with fish and game departments. Remember the woman who shot a gator in Floria last week that was attacking her dog and was charged with hunting gators out of season?
I guess we are supposed to just let them eat us, it is good for the environment!

"Enright was convicted of felony burglary 24 years ago when he was 17 years old. That is the basis for the "unlawful possession of a firearm" accusation."
That's bullcrap. If you're suitable to return to society then you should have your full rights restored to you. And he was stupid for calling the authorities.

It almost goes without saying:
shows the need to support our right to arm bears. Notice I said 'almost'.

A .22 and a .775, that 10 gauge or .775 could leave a hole.
He was right in calling because a wounded bear could be a bad problem.

Why can people VOTE after serving time but can't get their SECOND AMENDMENT rights back??
24 years ago, whne he was 17 ????
Idiotic.
But then Seattle, as I understand it, joined Miami, New York City, Kalipornia, all of New Jersey and Massachusetts, as former United States territory.

Fish and Wildlife Officers usually have more sense. This is an outrageous taking... and apparent consideration of charges for hunting would be outrageous. This comes on the heels of nightly reports of bears in the suburban North end for the last week.

I should be open season on Fish and Wildlife 365/year. 10+ years ago, they striped the ivory from all the keys of an antique piano which had been shipped from France (yuck) to the USA. I saw the pics of this piano and it was gorgeous before these government trash got their hands on it. The elephant had been dead over 75 years. What was the purpose of destroying the property of a US citizen.

Seattle? Figures.
My aunt lives in AK and has a large bear (I don't know my bears) stuffed, full-height in her front foyer. She shot it protecting herself and her kids on a wild Blueberry picking expedition.
Very unjust. Hope this guy fights it without taking himself to the Poor House to do so.
