Pro-Amnesty Senators: Today You Vote, Tomorrow WE Vote (what interests do your senators serve? )
American Chronicle ^ | May 24, 2006 | Barbara Anderson

Posted on 05/26/2006 5:32:43 AM PDT by IrishMike

The Senate is rushing a pro-amnesty bill through, hoping to get it out of the way before too many of their constituents find out what is really in the bill. Some of the provisions have leaked out already and they are enough to make those constituents so mad they won’t be likely to support those senators ever again.

We have heard about the Social Security giveaway. That is, if an illegal alien has been working in the country and paying into Social Security, once amnestied the worker would be entitled to collect benefits for himself/herself, even though the worker was here ILLEGALLY. As with American citizens, these benefits would apply to relatives. This would bring up an odd situation of beneficiaries receiving money even if they had never set foot in the U. S. themselves. Actually, by the time an illegal has paid into the system, that worker would have likely broken at least three of our laws. Once, by sneaking into the country without permission, twice, residing here, and three times by working here illegally. It is possible, even probable, that the worker has used a fake I.D., also, However, with the proposed amnesty, all would be forgiven.

All sorts of penalties have been cited to deny an amnesty has occurred. The worker would have to pay back taxes. However, this bill would allow the worker to pay only three years’ taxes out of five. How many citizens would like a deal such as that? It seems favoritism to illegals is the Senate’s main quest.

This bill is not going to come out of conference. It is a disaster and will never see the light of day. Let's wait and see what the House does.

Agreed. I just e-mailed my Senator, Norm Coleman, and told him to go piss up a rope. Not that it will do a damned bit of good.
The House is our only hope at this point. The Senate's utterly worthless.

Having an R next to their name is critical in the vote for judges.

Stevens could retire or kick the bucket any minute.

We'll need all the "R's" we can get for this next Scotus vote.

"Wana" place a small bet that Gonzales is Senor Bush's next nomination?

I wouldn't be surprised, but I wouldn't bet on it either.

It will depend on whether we keep this Senatorial majority or get a larger one, a smaller one, or lose the Senate to the Dems.

The larger the majority, the more likely we get a strict constructionist, conservative.

Conversely, to lose the Senate means Pres. Bush will be forced to nominate another Sandra Day, and maybe not get even her through.

They could care less. It's obvious that the House is the Peoples House and that the Senate thinks they are accountable to no one.

There are some Senators who are on the right side of this issue strongly, Senator Sessions comes to mind.

Oh, absolutely. Not all of them are to be included inmy statement for sure. That's evident by the vote. But a vast majority of them, at least on this issue, are.

Sad, isn't it? The only choice we have for senator is a RINO/lib/gun grabber/anti-ANWR/Gang of 14 member or a RAT/lib/commie. Some choice.

I agree....lousy choice.

But he does vote for the right judges when they come up -- so far, anyway.

The Stevens retirement could give conservatism clear control of the Scotus for a couple decades.

"Wanna bet that the 'Pubbies that voted for the bill (less than half of 'em) are NOT up for election this year?
Only 20 of the 50+ 'Pubbie senators voted for this piece of muerte. McCain and his friends should pay price.
But they won't."

Political rope-a-dope. Here in Virginia, Warner (R) voted for and Allen (R) voted against. Only Allen is up for re-election this year.

How stupid do they think we are??!! The good cop/bad cop ploy is very obvious.

Most Americans can't remember that long. too busy doing the important things like voting for the next American Idol (while the Senate votes for the next American Amnesty winner.)

"Frankly, I think after we have this bill SHOVED down our throats, all US Citizens should go down to the local ICE office and proclaim themselfs as new Hispanic amnesty seekers (regardless of you original ethnic origin), You'll get a new social security number, free health care, preference in job hiring, and more!"

Of course when you get your "new social security number, free health care, etc.", you'll probably have to submit to national ID card or an implantable microchip. :)

"We'll need all the "R's" we can get for this next Scotus vote."

As the existing {r} Senators are useless, why do you beleive they will do the right thing on Senators? Chaffee already voted against a few. They all voted to completly remake the country, increase our taxes, federal and local, increase the crime rate, and create social problems beyond your wildest dreams in this Amnesty and Cheap Labor Bill, and they did it for money, theirs and their cocktail party friends who insist on cheap labor.

Fire a few and watch the rest scurry back under their rocks where they hope they will not be noticed.

Sorry, but I disagree.

Scotus is and always has been the most important issue.

I don't think these maroons in DC understand how furious the American electorate is this election cycle. I haven't checked, but I'm willing to bet that every republican who is trying to ram this piece of poop thru the Senate isn't up for election this year.

The only rino that voted for it that's up for re-election this year is Lincoln Chaffee (Rino, Rhode Island). The democRATS in R.I. won't care and Chaffee knows it.
