Mark Belling On Rush - apologist for do nothing on the border
RushLimbaugh Show ^ | May 23, 2006 | Mark Belling on Rush

Mark Belling On Rush - apologist for do nothing on the border Congress and Bush.

On the border control discussion on Rush's show, stand-in host Mark Belling was a clear example of what is wrong with our past immigration policy and especially what is wrong with it now.

His lame excuses don't cut it. A caller to the show pointed out the laws that are in place now that could be enforced and all Belling did was make more excuses. The same caller pointed out all the programs and welfare that are in place for illegals and lure them to the U.S. and Belling again made excuses.

In the final word, Belling kept falling back on a "its a very difficult situation."

No, it is only difficult if you do not want to do something about it. There are laws to be enforced. Enforce them. There are benefits being offered to illegals. take them away.

There is a wide open border. Bush has the authority now to put troops on the border. DO IT and DO IT NOW! All Bush needs to say it that it is for national security and move the troop there.

If Congress wants to try and stop him, let them have at it. I bet they don't have the courage. Just like Bush does not have the courage to do it.

Belling is so wrong on this I turned off the radio and won't listen to Rush any time that idiot is stepping in as a subsitute host. I don't tune in for BS on the border issue. I can see plenty of that from Bush and Congress (a very few Congressman excepted).

(Sorry for this vanity. I needed to vent).

Belling doesn't get it, and is an idiot! There is a way to get rid of 20 million illegal aliens. Deny them work and benefits! Limit the amount of money they can send to $50 a month! They will leave here like they left Mexico!

We could turn the tide without having to round anyone up. Your suggestion on limiting transfer of funds is a good one.

I've never thought much of Belling. But today, his complete and utter lack of the entire immigration issue proves that he's still an uninformed jerk.

And, the guy definitely sounds light in the loafers.

I shut him off too...actually I went to classic rock.

I was cutting the grass and almost tossed the headset and radio under the mower.

Opps, guess I shouldn't admit I even mow my own grass:)

Most of them are guilty of fraud, perjury, forgery, and other crimes.

My experience from working in an Immigration law office back during the Amnesty of the late 80s was that a lot of them are also guilty of DUI and child molestation. Real lowbrow stuff.

It's been on the radar of the Southwest for a LONG time. It's been brewing like a powder keg. They have finally been able to raise awareness across the country.

There are a lot of common sense ideas here. We have laws on the books. We have too many laws on the books about any subject you want and more coming. But what you say is common sense and our politicians don't have any.

Wasn't Belling the guy who got "suspended" for using an offensive word like "wetback" (even though it was supposedly taken out of context)? I think he may be politically sensitive to the subject of illegal immigration after he got his wa-wa slapped. Also, he fancies himself an economist and "unrestrained" free marketeer.

The dems made this 30 year old problem a major issue to divide the base. They did it through fueling these protests with the massive turnouts. They knew it would anger the base and knew there were not the votes in Congress to fix the problem and appease the angry base. Its the port deal all over with and the rats are loving it.

If Bush hadn't pushed the issue, Congress would never have considered it.

I heard the interchange with the guy who said the existing laws could be enforced while running an errand. Appalling. I'm e-mailing Rush to ask that he never have that clown on his show again.

BS and you know it. We discussed it here on how the Bush/Kerry debates skirted around and virtually ignored the immigration issues. Just because it wasn't on your radar.......

There should be plenty in the archives.

FR is not indicative of anything except FR.

It especially does not reflect congressional priorities.

If it did, all the Congress would be doing is talking about homosexuality.

He was giving the BS line that the only reason that illegal immigration is an issue is because Bush made it an issue.

The only reason illegal immigration is an issue is because Border Security wasn't a priority first!

If Bush hadn't pushed the issue, Congress would never have considered it.

I think you had best either (1) go back and study your history or (2) go back into the White House and let them know that spin is not going to fly with the FR crowd (and 70% of the country).

Make that a limit of $00.00. It is too hard to control any limit per month. There are too many ways to send the money. Western Union is one of their favorites.
Now Bank of America is advertising giving them free/cheap bank accounts "to send their transfers safely".
I had to have lots of documentation to open a bank account. The B of A seems to be ignoring those rules I had to follow.

Exactly! My family wanted another stray puddy tat, and we have two, so I picked up the latest TD family wannabe, took him outside, dropped him, and shut the door. Then I brought the kittie kibbles dispenser from the garage into the house.
Next time he dropped by ("Daddy, how can you be so hard-hearted!") same thing.
Same thing with our uninvited `guest workers' from Mexico. `Shut off their water' and show them the door, then build a barrier or they won't leave and they will come back.
They'll land on their feet. In any event, they are Mexico's problems, not ours.
No amnesty!
Hysterically Yours,
td
