Mark Belling On Rush - apologist for do nothing on the border Congress and Bush.
On the border control discussion on Rush's show, stand-in host Mark Belling was a clear example of what is wrong with our past immigration policy and especially what is wrong with it now.
His lame excuses don't cut it. A caller to the show pointed out the laws that are in place now that could be enforced and all Belling did was make more excuses. The same caller pointed out all the programs and welfare that are in place for illegals and lure them to the U.S. and Belling again made excuses.
In the final word, Belling kept falling back on a "its a very difficult situation."
No, it is only difficult if you do not want to do something about it. There are laws to be enforced. Enforce them. There are benefits being offered to illegals. take them away.
There is a wide open border. Bush has the authority now to put troops on the border. DO IT and DO IT NOW! All Bush needs to say it that it is for national security and move the troop there.
If Congress wants to try and stop him, let them have at it. I bet they don't have the courage. Just like Bush does not have the courage to do it.
Belling is so wrong on this I turned off the radio and won't listen to Rush any time that idiot is stepping in as a subsitute host. I don't tune in for BS on the border issue. I can see plenty of that from Bush and Congress (a very few Congressman excepted).
(Sorry for this vanity. I needed to vent).

I turned him off too.
He was giving the BS line that the only reason that illegal immigration is an issue is because Bush made it an issue. That's BS... it's an issue because the vast majority of Americans are fed up with it and FORCED it to the table, forced them to acknowledge it.
I had to turn him off during his mantra of:
No reponsibility or liability from employers for anything wrong in this world.
I think the Dubai brouhaha helped bring this issue to the front, even if it was a bank shot. Port security led to border security. I guess the DEMs see a chance to score a similar victory.
And he would have 70% of the country behind him if he went ahead and put troops on the border. They are all being dragged kicking and screaming to do something about this issue.
We as voters better make sure a price is paid by all this election by voting out of office anyone that does not take a strong stand - and action - on the border issue.
Where is that post with the voting record again?!
It is difficult to be a conservative, right and not nice.
Thanks for the heads up. I was going to listen after they posted the show on "Rush 24/7." Now I won't bother. I get enough open borders claptrap here.
By the way, does anybody know what's happened to Michael Savage? Serious answers, please. His last live show was last Tuesday and it's been all repeats for a week. No Rick Roberts, no substitutes...Anybody know what happened to him?
I listened to him for a little bit today- yet it was difficult- I don't understand ostrich-speak very well.
"I had to turn him off during his mantra of:

That struck me as particuarly dimwitted, too.
However, what REALLY bothers him is the Da Vinci Code, which he's been blathering on about for close to an hour now.
Belling doesn't get it, and is an idiot! There is a way to get rid of 20 million illegal aliens. Deny them work and benefits! Limit the amount of money they can send to $50 a month! They will leave here like they left Mexico!
I turned it off, too... bad choice today.
I listened to his weasel words about ten minutes before cutting off the show today. Rush lost lots of audience for his sponsors by putting this loser on the air today, and we should let him know it.
Rush has been trying to promote that stupid movie also. Sometimes I think he forgets who his listeners are. I didn't listen for about three weeks during the Dubai Ports episode.
No, Belling is correct. There was nothing on either the House or Senate calendars this session to deal with immigration until Bush reiterated his desire in early 2005 for immigration reform.
This issue wasn't even on the radar in the 2004 elections. To say that Americans forced it is preposterous.
He's a boring twit and his Wisconsin accent bordering on MinnaSODA-ese is grating after a while. Like listening to your overly-earnest college prof drone on.
Anyone with the subscription should send Rush an e-mail about it.
The pro-open borders crowd, whatever their reasons make me sick!
If someone would just yell out at them, "What about enforcing the laws written in the Simpson/Masoli 1986 Bill, signed by Pres. Reagan? That would be enough to put a stop to all of this guest worker/amnesty/social security giveaway crap. What's so hard for you to understand, idiot, enforce the law!
I lived in California for 21 years, and it's been an issue there for a long time, but the rest of the country wasn't impacted. Now that the problem has spread all over the country, it's reached critical mass.
Another reason it's now a hot issue is because the illegals have had the colossal nerve to hold their protest marches, proudly displaying the Mexican flag and demanding their "rights"!
I love President Bush, and had the honor of voting for him twice. I agree with him on everything but this issue.
