Good question. When I tuned into his show on KRLA, they were playing a rerun of Hugh Hewitt. KTIE was also running alternative programming. Neither the stations' websites nor Savage's own provided an explanation as to what had happened. However, Savage was back the next day.

The bi-polar finally got to him. One day, on one of his manic phases, he decided to run naked throught Sonora desert and hasn't been seen since. I suspect that when the mania wears off he'll show up somewhere in an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
