'In God We Trust' goes missing

School plays it safe with yearbook cover photo

08:37 AM CDT on Saturday, May 20, 2006 WFAA-TV

The freedom of religion at Liberty Elementary School has gone too far for some parents at the Colleyville school.

The cover of the Keller ISD school's annual depicts the 2005 Liberty Nickel – complete with the face of Thomas Jefferson – but the words "In God We Trust" are missing.

Instead, the $16 yearbook contains a sticker with the credo and directions on how to apply it to the cover if the owner chooses.

Two things: 1) Find the name of the liberal wing nut POS who made the decision to delete " In God We Trust." 2) Send a few Texas Longhorn Cowboys up to brand his ass with a red hot iron which says: " In God We Trust." That would just about make everything even steven.

accomodating the few to the detriment of the vast majority?

That is exactly what is happening in every aspect of our lives. Be it the environmentalists, atheists, anti-war/anti-Americans...they get whatever they want and the rest of us are supposed to shut up and take it.

That comment is consistent with your other bigoted, hateful, anti-Christian posts on FR. It’s unfortunate that you are allowed a voice on a conservative forum.

Here's a hint, Ace: not all conservatives are Christian. And here's another hint for you to ponder: recognition of fact does not make one "anti-Christian."

> PC = "prevention of communism"

Communism was prevented by the US living up to it's real motto, "E Pluribus Unum," not by political pandering by way of religious mottos on money and mashed into the pledge of allegience.

Yes, what a wonderful idea. Mutiliation as a responce to insufficient religiocity.

Hmmm. Which religion is this again?

There. Much improved, and only a Commie DU'er would dare to argue with it.

It has nothing to do with religion. Why is it that every thread is a religious one. It has to do with our nation's traditions and conventions, and political correctness which is substituted for clear thnking. Its thinking by recipe in a school.

Obviously, from what I wrote, you can see that I do not see it as a religious issue, neither did the men who minted the coin. I trust in God but I have learned to have little to do with organized religion and believe firmly in the 1st amendment that all americans should be free to chose how they want to relate to religion.

You want to substitute your political religious correctness for that of the school's political correctness. I simply want political correctness gone from the halls of education. There is something quite obscene about a publicly paid teacher or school administrator feeling that he needs to make his students into politically correct clones along "sensitive" liberal lines, thereby sending the message that it is fine to rewrite history.Historical revisionism is the mark of a totalitarian state.

So I advocate a modest proposal along the lines of Jonathan Swift's: brand his ass with: " In God We Trust" and see how he likes some of his own medicine.

Or if that gives you a problem, then we can arrange for his visit to a tattoo parlor for a kinder, gentler branding, in color.

*Snicker*

Try reading Ann Coulter's Treason for more of the nuts and bolts on 40's and 50's era Communism in the US.

Cheers!

Full Disclosure: Your comment above does have something to do with my loose Latin translation of "From one, many"--balkanization of the US will render the society unable to resist Communist domination effectively.

And a strong, willing, collective adherence to Judeo-Christianity renders the society more resistant to Gramscian undermining.

Cheers!

Is that original to you? If so, how'd you generate the "D" and "I" to match the original font so well?

Cheers!

Or a Christian.

You keep expecting people to take you seriously for some reason.

So long as the branded feller then gets to beat the brander to death with a Louisville Slugger. Because this is America, not some Islamofascist theocracy. We're civilized. We do not suggest multilating people because of their beliefs. People who do suggest such things are seriously Un American in the highest degree.

Yup. Took the dollar images above and re-worked 'em.

>If so, how'd you generate the "D" and "I"

The "I" was just a re-worked "D". The "N" was two "I's" put together, and the "bridge" cloned between 'em. Easy.

Now, if'n I'd had to make an "S"... I woulda bagged it.

Athiests never compromise; they just sue and enrich the ACLU. This can be fixed. The tyranny of the minority in this country is out-of-control, and if they weren't making money out of lawsuits they would probably recognize that those of us who are sane don't have to put up with their b.s. and can stop it easily enough. We are the tolerant; they are the intolerant.

I don't know about you, but I always have found nickels to be very offending. Everytime I hear their jingle I feel like my freedom of religion is under attack. /sarc

Perhaps. However, your persistent and argumentative presence on Christian-related threads marks you as either an anti-Christian, or a fellow who is trying really hard not to become a Christian (and losing the battle).
