Illegals granted Social Security
The Washington Times ^ | May 19, 2006 | By Charles Hurt

"The Senate voted yesterday to allow illegal aliens to collect Social Security benefits based on past illegal employment -- even if the job was obtained through forged or stolen documents. 'There was a felony they were committing, and now they can't be prosecuted. That sounds like amnesty to me,' said Sen. John Ensign, the Nevada Republican who offered the amendment yesterday to strip out those provisions of the immigration reform bill. 'It just boggles the mind how people could be against this amendment.' The Ensign amendment was defeated on a 50-49 vote," the Washington Times reports. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) defended letting illegal aliens get Social Security. "If this amendment were enacted, the nest egg that these immigrants have worked hard for would be taken from them and their families," said McCain.

Social Security is not a nest egg but you can live pretty well on a Social Security check in rural Mexico.

The Senate voted yesterday to allow illegal aliens to collect Social Security benefits based on past illegal employment

*Discrimination* unless the Senate votes to allow *citizens* to also collect SS benefits if they admit to ILLEGAL employment.

even if the job was obtained through forged or stolen documents.

so will it be *legal* for anyone to work with forged/stolen documents or only the ILLEGALS ??

"There was a felony they were committing, and now they can't be prosecuted. That sounds like amnesty to me," said Sen. John Ensign,

Not only an *amnesty* for these lawbreakers, but also a REWARD (ss benefits).

Many on FR think that the illegal immigration debate has weakened the Republican Party. I believe it has strengthened it. If for no other reason, the Senate Republicans are being forced to vote and put themselves on the record. Now we truly know who are friends within the party are and who we should be working against when they come up for election.

My only hope is that we don't punish those who are working for us, the House Republicans and Senators like Ensign and Sessions by staying at home on election day. I know that I will vote for a conservative whenever I can.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how I see it on this issue.

Bad guys on our side:

Brownback (R-KS), Chafee (R-RI), DeWine (R-OH), Martinez (R-FL), Lugar (R-IN), Hagel (R-NE), McCain (R-AZ), Specter (R-PA), Stevens (R-AK), Voinovich (R-OH)

*And obviously the vast majority are demotards. Four actually voted nay.

This is what is going on here: BOTH SIDES are pandering for the illegal alien vote

Thats right, they are not SUPPOSED to vote, but they do.

Absolutely....If I could control the whole thing, I would name 2-3 people in the senate we should not keep in...as an example. The same in the house but perhaps a bit more. Just enough not to effect our voting power.

Although I don't want anyone to stop voting for those whom are prodominately good conservatives. The worst of them, only.

Well, everyone knows there was way too much money in the Social Security mega-fund. I'm sure we can afford to give 3/4 of it away to needy third-world underclasses. After all, we're all filthy rich and we should feed the world's poor, open our homes, schools, hospitals and bank accounts to them for the next few generations to make up for our sordid and greedy past.

(just being sarcastic in case any one wonders)

Illegals granted Social Security!

The "cob house" Senate has done it again in spite of the large majority of Americans that are opposed to it!

How does it feel to have your President and your low life Senate give you the "finger" America?

It stinks to "high heaven" doesn't it!
