And here I didn't know they had mobile homes there!
I don't remember the last time NYC got a tornado. Here in Jersey, we get one or two a year. Dinky ones.
These are the first pictures online.

That looks like a waterspout, which are much weaker than tornados and happen frequently in coastal areas during squally weather.
Holy cats. Incredible pics!
I'm not even going to say what that tornado looks like.
Is that a tornado or a water spout? Any way the pictures are great. Hope nobody was hurt.
Cool photos. A loud rumbling of thunder just sounded here in Manhattan about ten minutes ago.
Dang. I'm in NYC and I didn't hear or see anything about it.
I was hoping for U.N. HQ
So I guess NYC is part of "Tornado Alley" now?
Or maybe we should call it the "Tornado Docks"?
How often? Well ...
From the New York City Office of Emergency Management
Tornadoes and NYC
Though generally associated with the central United States, tornadoes occasionally occur in New York City. In October 1985, an F1 tornado touched down in Queens, injuring six people. In August 1990, an F0 tornado struck Staten Island, injuring three people. A more intense F1 tornado struck Staten Island again in October 1995, causing some property damage, but no injuries. Most recently, an F0 tornado and a "gustnado" occurred in Staten Island's Bullshead and Willowbrook areas on October 27, 2003. The F0 tornado was responsible for uprooting eight trees and causing minor property damage and the "gustnado" uprooted a 30-foot pine tree - there were no injuries.
Great pics! Good job!
