In another in a series of notable pronouncements, religious broadcaster Pat Robertson says God told him storms and possibly a tsunami will hit America's coastline this year.
Robertson has made the predictions at least four times in the past two weeks on his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network, which he founded.
Robertson said the revelations about this year's weather came to him during his annual personal prayer retreat in January.
"If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be lashed by storms," Robertson said May 8. On Wednesday, he added, "There well may be something as bad as a tsunami in the Pacific Northwest."
Robertson has come under intense criticism in recent months for suggesting that American agents should assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine retribution for Israel's pullout from the Gaza Strip.

So if there are no storms at all on the american coast Robertson was wrong, otherwise we should stand in awe of his predictive powers? Tsunami predictions couched in weasel words don't mean much.
Wait a minute. I'm getting something...

Why is it that if Robertson says something, it's headline news but if the Iranian guy claims history will end in two or three years or, that his role is to usher in the return of the twelfth imam, nobody pays him much attention?

Can't we confine this fool to a nursing home? He is no longer entertaining.

The then kid thought for sure it was him...3 days later no improvement then the parent figured it was the meds and discontinued. Kid never listened to Pat again.
What an inspiring testamonial!

I am just fascinated by how so many on here have jumped down his throat for making predictions about the future that may yet come true.
He's been a false prophet since the Eighties when he was predicting the Apocalypse. Fleeced the flock many times with this crap. Books, videos, telethons, etc. Very profitable.
If his followers were astute Bible students, they would stone him. I'd even send money to 700 Club to watch that show.

Well, I suppose we'll see for sure whether he's a false prophet in the next year or so.

When I die I want to go peacefully in my sleep like grand pa, not screaming and crying like the passengers in the car he was driving.

"He's a false prophet IMO, if God was REALLY talking to him, He would have been telling him at times to shut up and not say the stupid things that at times he has on such a global stage."
I used to know an elderly woman from Missouri and after some years of aquaintence I came to find out that she believed that God spoke to her at times. So I asked her, "Lena, what does God tell you?" not really knowing what to expect. She replied, "Well, mostly he just says 'hush woman'."
There is a lesson for all of us there.

I have had personal dealings with Pat Robertson and I can assure you that he is nothing but a money grubbing fraud.

We are all witness to the ridiculous things that have come out of his mouth the last year.
That speaks to whether or no God talks to him very loudly.
I think if he ears anything at this time, it is from having mad cow disease.

"All I have to say is, for Pat's sake, there better be a tsunami. Since Pat calls himself a prophet, ever word he speks "from the Lord" must come true.:"The quote was "something as bad as a tsunami". To me that says major disaster but NOT a tsunami."

He should give up his gig on the 700 club and join the weather channel.
