In another in a series of notable pronouncements, religious broadcaster Pat Robertson says God told him storms and possibly a tsunami will hit America's coastline this year.
Robertson has made the predictions at least four times in the past two weeks on his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network, which he founded.
Robertson said the revelations about this year's weather came to him during his annual personal prayer retreat in January.
"If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be lashed by storms," Robertson said May 8. On Wednesday, he added, "There well may be something as bad as a tsunami in the Pacific Northwest."
Robertson has come under intense criticism in recent months for suggesting that American agents should assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine retribution for Israel's pullout from the Gaza Strip.
if I heard the Lord right, Pat Robertson is an assclown.
IF he heard the Lord right...
Great. Recently one of my clients recently requested her files be sent to her because she had a dream that I got killed in a giant explosion of the Cascades. And now this, sheesh!
what an idiot
Oops. Actually, it was a different story about the same subject. Sorry.
LOL. He must have watched the same show ("Mega Tsunamis") that I saw a few days ago. It was either on the Discovery Channel, or the History Channel.
Good grief. He an the President of Iran should write letters to each other. What has gotten into him nowadays
I never thought I'd have to use the "Tsunami escape road" about 1/2 mile south of here.
....and I still don't.
I would sure like to know which god Robertson is chatting with, because it certainly isn't my God.
oops! well I checked both the title and score and nothing came up
Yeah, there have been a lot of those "ways-you-can-die-spectacularly" shows on cable lately, haven't there?
Hurrumph, well I predict an earthquake in California and a hurricane in the Carribean.
About 20 yrs ago a then kid suffering severe headaches (side effect to a med) was watching Pat and his word of knowledge he just recieved about a child suffering from severe headaches would be healed.
The then kid thought for sure it was him...3 days later no improvement then the parent figured it was the meds and discontinued.
Kid never listened to Pat again.
Y'know, it seems to me if the Lord's talkin', you really ought to be listenin' kinda close. Especially if you make your living at it.
I predict Bobtail in the 2nd race at Santa Anita to place.
He's a false prophet IMO, if God was REALLY talking to him, He would have been telling him at times to shut up and not say the stupid things that at times he has on such a global stage.
It has been very quiet this last week.
Unusual not to have a few micro's a week.
Had to miss a seminar on the Cascadia fault today and really was looking forward to it. It was over at Hatfield Marine Sci Center.
The Cascadia is due for its every 300 yrs great quake, but that is common knowledge.
God did not give Pat the exculsive vision on that subject.
Being God does not work in a "time" frame just how did Pat hear "possibly in the next year" in his word of knowledge.
I predict Pat Roberston will make a fool of himself again within the next 12 months.
