MATTHEWS: Draw us a picture of what happened in Haditha.
MURTHA: Well I'll tell you exactly what happened. One Marine was killed and the Marines just said we're gonna take care...we don't know who the enemy is, the pressure was too much on them, so they went into houses and actually killed civilians and...I...
MATTHEWS: Was this My Lai? When you say cold blood Congressman, a lot of people think you're basically saying you've got some civilians sitting in a room or out in a field and they're executed on purpose...
MURTHA: That's exactly what happened.
MATTHEWS: ...not because any of the Marines are scared or anybody is scared...
MURTHA: ...this was not an action...this was not...first they tried to say it was an IED, there was no IED involved in this. This was troops, they were so stressed out, they went into houses and killed children, women and children. 24 people they killed. Now this is the kind of stress they are under. Listen, I don't excuse it, but I understand what's happening and the responsibility goes right to the top. This is something that should not have happened, that should have been investigated, they've already relieved three commanding officers...but this is the kind of stuff...stress is going to cause these kind of things. That's why I'm so upset about it.
MATTHEWS: Congressman, I just want to read something from the Marine Corps and then you can continue. The Marine Corps told us today that they're not going to comment today because the investigation is still ongoing. So they're investigating...

There is going to be an investigation of the charges he made I am told. Perhaps the smart thing to do, providing he is wrong, is to charge him with treason. As a congressmen, making a trumped up charge against these men is giving aid and comfort to the enemy. And from a member of congress it is unforgivable. That should get him back on the farm.

He's getting a lot of out-of-state money, while Diana Irey's money has mostly been from within PA.
Not any more. Murtha's way out of bounds

the purpose of the comments is to demoralize public support for the war, lower troop morale, both of which have a beneficial effect to Murtha and liberals--->helping them regain power. Of course, you already knew that!

We may need some help, Coop, but we'll get it done now and in November.
Murtha's days in Congress are numbered.

Whatever happened to confidence in one's fellow brothers? (okay, used to be, he withdrew himself from the botherhood).
As I read, an investigation is being performed as we address this. While it is very possible they could be guilty, Murtha announcing their guilt so fast betrays every aspect of our legal system.
Move over sKerry, you have a new brother whoc an't wait to defame the Troops you both claim to support.

This jerk adds meaning to the differences, ex-Marine and Former Marine, with him being in the latter.
Worthless POS, he is.

What's left of Hanoi Murpha's brain is not running on all cylinders, he should have been put under 24 hour nursing care a long time ago.
If the Marine Corp can't comment on it because it's still under investigation what gives Murpha the right to blurt it out without the slightest piece of evidence, where's his loyalty to the Corp he himself belonged too?
Wasn't this traitor listed as Chairman of the Senate Arms Committee on the DemocRATs November wish list the other day?

It seems as though Murtha NEVER will pass up an opportunity to whiz on the EAGLE, GLOBE and ANCHOR that he hides behind.
Since profanity is not acceptable on this site, I shall say nothing more about this worthless maggot scumbag.
I just KNOW that my fellow MARINES understand just where I am coming from. That is comfort enough for me.

Yes Coop. This man, can't call him by his formal honorable title, is going to be remembered by a lot of military folks as being as bad as John Kerry. And surely many a military family, especially with family members now serving and past are seeing him for what he is.
What I hope mostly right now is those Marines did not do what is being circulated.

He's been to Iraq on at least one occasion, where he met with Marines and lied to them. Capt. B of
One Marine's View described the visit:
Holy Crap Bat Man I could write a whole Blog entry on Sen Murtha. He came here in Iraq a couple months ago. Praising us for what a great job we did. He visited places out west like Haditha and told the Marines there we are going to let you finish what you started as I listened. He probed about requirements and gear and morale and was somewhat disappointed that we had what we needed and kept asking well what do you really need trying to find a problem. He definatly just pissed off a majority of the military now and has gone 180 degree from what he was saying and preaching about Finishing the job when he was face to face with us. He has been to Iraq ONCE for 3 days. Everything he is saying now is exactly the opposite of what he was saying when he was with us. He makes [it] sound like he is a front line troop as he speaks. He is two faced and I have seen it first hand standing in front of him as he spoke to us. This is a very sad ploy by the democrats and will do nothing but hurt our troops. Capt B

What in the world is this doddering old fool talking about? Goes right to the TOP???
Bush: Okay, have the marines go in there and kill a couple dozen of these iraqis. They need to let off a little steam.
He is an utter star-chamber wannabe lunatic that needs to be locked up. The marine platoon in question needs to file a class action civil lawsuit for character assassination. unbelievable.
