MATTHEWS: Draw us a picture of what happened in Haditha.
MURTHA: Well I'll tell you exactly what happened. One Marine was killed and the Marines just said we're gonna take care...we don't know who the enemy is, the pressure was too much on them, so they went into houses and actually killed civilians and...I...
MATTHEWS: Was this My Lai? When you say cold blood Congressman, a lot of people think you're basically saying you've got some civilians sitting in a room or out in a field and they're executed on purpose...
MURTHA: That's exactly what happened.
MATTHEWS: ...not because any of the Marines are scared or anybody is scared...
MURTHA: ...this was not an action...this was not...first they tried to say it was an IED, there was no IED involved in this. This was troops, they were so stressed out, they went into houses and killed children, women and children. 24 people they killed. Now this is the kind of stress they are under. Listen, I don't excuse it, but I understand what's happening and the responsibility goes right to the top. This is something that should not have happened, that should have been investigated, they've already relieved three commanding officers...but this is the kind of stuff...stress is going to cause these kind of things. That's why I'm so upset about it.
MATTHEWS: Congressman, I just want to read something from the Marine Corps and then you can continue. The Marine Corps told us today that they're not going to comment today because the investigation is still ongoing. So they're investigating...

What's his district. I don't live in Pennsylvania, but I have good connections in some parts of the state, and might be able to do some good. I may mis-recall, but it seems to me that Murtha was somewhat of an embarrasment to the Marine Corps in Vietnam times because he needed so much special handling so he could look good, but not get hurt.
Regardless, when a man lets himself become as fat and saggy as Murtha, no man should pay any attention to him any more. He needs estrogen replacement therapy and all that other stuff that people like him with sagging breasts and fat tookuses require.
I think it should be posted anytime it is necessary..
I think that Pantano is someone that Murtha can't use his blustery attitude towards...he can't say that "he hasn't been there"...or, "he doesn't know what is going on in Iraq, like I have"...
IOW, Murtha has a nemesis that can shoot back.
Thanks to both of you, that's what I figured too but wanted to be sure. That is a strong letter.
Everytime I think about his appearance on Stephy's show..I get mad...he was just so wrong to say all of the things he did.
At one point he started his usual "we can't win in Iraq militarily....", like he has been saying for months...but, after sitting there for 10 minutes talking about the horrible things that the Marines "supposedly" did...
He starts getting all revved up, and says, "we have to win the hearts and minds!"
How in the heck does he think his rhetoric, and his accusations with no proof, helps win the hearts and minds of the Iraqi people??
Is he afraid to call the Iraqi in Haditha "liars" if they know this was a setup and is playing along? He just reminds me of a bully, that would run at the first sign of someone fighting back..
I pray that Lt. Pantano will..
I really don't understand the guy. I don't understand his motives. Maybe he's starting to suffer from dementia or just become a doddering old man.
Whatever it is, I don't really think he understands the harm he has caused or is causing now, either that or he just doesn't care.
I get so pi$$ed when these articles keep coming out one after another and he seems to just add gasoline to he fire. I don't think I could stand watching an interview on TV.
Maybe he's being used by other Dems because they have something on him from his prior screwups, I just don't know. But I do know he has to go, he's betraying our military and our country.
He is really doing what Kerry did in 1971...only he is talking about a specific incident..that might or might not have some Marines in trouble...
BUT, Kerry basically said all of this same stuff, and he became a Senator because of it!!!
PA-12, around Pittsburgh. Please provide any assistance you can. I've copied Smoothsailing on this message, as he has taken an active role in supporting Diana Irey, Murtha's worthy opponent.
I just hope and pray enough veterans and enraged Americans rally to defeat Mr. Murtha. But I must confess I have my doubts. It's one thing to post on a forum and another to actually do real work (support). But I'm keeping my fingers crossed and not giving up.
I am watching Lt. Col. Bill Cowan on Fox News right now...and he said HE believes Murtha and Warner...when they say the Haditha incident "appears to be deliberate"..and for the US to "expect the worse"...
He said that he had no reason think that Murtha or Warner, would have any reason to lie about this..
Now, I had heard that Col. Hunt had gone to the dark side...but Lt.Col. Cowan???
Also...have you guys seen the footage from Kabul about the traffic accident, and the riots that started from that???
Believing the charges doesn't make him on the dark side. I think something serious occurred as well. I'm just not ready to publicly declare someone guilty when the facts are not known to most of us.
I here you....I guess I am having a VERY hard time believing this story...
There are also so many ways this could have been a set up...but, Cowan seemed pretty convinced.
I know I shouldn't have said that about Cowan, I have never heard him speak negatively "on purpose"...so, you are right, I shouldn't put him on the "dark side" column.
I trust you to keep me from flying off the handle, Coop. Thanks.
Aw, jeez---- I just heard on Fox News that Gen. Paul Vallely had an aneurysm this last weekend and is in the hospital in Missouri..
Gen. McInerny, that wrote a book with him, just told about it..
Prayers up for Gen. Vallely.
I hadn't heard that either. Very sorry, and prayers going up for Paul V.
Bump
Reminder bump and call to action.
What district is that?
It's the PA 12th District angcat and even if you don't live in the district please consider supporting Ms. Irey in any way you can. Murtha has to go.

Oh thanks!
Let me know if you'd like to be on the Irey/Murtha ping list. Cheers!
