Why can't God tell Pat and his ilk that they will jump off of the highest building to show their devotion to Him? That would be a message from above that would do some real good.

What a charitable and cheeky idea.

If the most powerful Being in the universe has chosen to give you a message to give to others, and you can prevent Him from giving it to you, then it seems to me that you are more powerful than He is.

Nowhere in the Bible are we given examples of the prophets of God saying, "I think God is telling me "so & so". When they spoke for God there was no subjective "feeling" or "impressions" that God was trying to get through to them. When the prophets of God spoke for Him in the Old Testament they put their lives on the line. There was no wiggle room to get out from under their "Thus saith the Lord" if it turned out that God had not spoken to them after all.

Christians (as well as others) today often take the thoughts in their own minds and attribute them to God. They often talk about a "small still voice". However, if one actually pays attention to the context of the one passage in the entire Bible where that particular phrase is used one will note that it wasn't a "small, still impression", or a "small, still nudge", or a "small, still thought". It was a small still "VOICE". Elijah actually heard a voice. And Elijah had no problem knowing exactly what God wanted him to do or say (unlike Pat Robertson who is not quite sure that he heard God Almighty accurately but is telling us his "impressions" anyway!)

Sure, on a personal level we can let sin and the distractions of life affect our relationship with God. But again, if God intends for you to hear Him, He will accomplish that goal. (Paul, on the road to Damascus, is a prime example. His heart wasn't exactly "tuned in" to the right frequency to hear from Jesus in the first place. But God was able to overcome that inconvenience to get through to him.)

Pat Robertson has accomplished a lot of good in the world, especially with his many charitable works. But I am afraid that he brings shame on the Christian community when he so often claims to personally know the Creator's mind and plans on matters not discussed in the Bible.

Perhaps you did not notice that "if" at the beginning of the above.

You seem to be of the very high and lofty opinion that God would never implement a training course in hearing His still small voice. Perhaps you've declined to be enrolled in such a training course.

Perhaps you've never been around a farm wherein the master decided to give some particularly delicate training of his favorite horse--whereby the horse would learn to have such A HEART--FOR--WITH--THE MASTER that the horse would begin to anticipate--but not presumptively nor out of step--and the master's slightest muscle move or tone or whisper would direct the horse in the most complex behavior.

I don't presume to know all the reasons why God chooses to train particularly some folks in such 'listening' and 'hearing' courses. But I know He does.

Some folks teach "to follow after peace" which is Biblical--does one feel peace in one's spirit about what one discerns Holy Spirit's still small voice to be saying? It's a useful guideline. But only a guideline.

Certainly God can get any message across to anyone,

IF

He so desires. He's very good at thunder, lightening, parting the Red Sea etc. And, he's an artist at all levels of intense to intensely quiet to subtle communication. Perhaps you've not experienced or have declined to notice His range of communications to you. Or perhaps He tends to have assessed your attitude about such and decided that He'll reserve thunder for you but hasn't had occasion for it yet.

BTW, are you telling me that you've NEVER been reading the Scripture and had a verse or phrase JUMP OUT AT YOU as particularly applying in a specific way to a serious, important matter you'd been concerned about and praying about for some time?

Oh, and, could you show me in Scripture where God specifically tells a young man which girl--"Julia" or "Serendipity" . . . or maybe "Delia" is God's best for his life's mate? Or, whether the used Mercedes or the new Buick would last the longest?

Methinks you are desperately trying to cram Almighty God into a tiny box He declines to bother with, much less fit into.

A lot of very Godly people have told me that THEY think I hear God rather accurately. I fuss a lot because I see all the mistakes, misses, inaccuracies. I want every communication to be LOUD AND CLEAR AND EMPHATIC and it annoys me; frustrates me that my 'hearing' is not that perfected at my age.

But I am not the author and perfector of my faith nor of my hearing nor even of myself. God is. And He works all things to good for those who Love Him, are called etc.

I don't know all the things He is choosing to work out in me and in my life by this course in hearing His still small voice. It seems to be a life-long course, for me. I do know He IS working out His will and purposes in me and with me. I choose to take comfort in that. And, I listen and hear more or less as well as I can and obey more or less to the best of my ability.

He seems to exhort most persistently that He has a lot more patience and grace for me than I have for myself . . . one of my growing edges.

Here's a look at how "Fruitful" Patty's ministry has been, especially for himself. Robbie is a false prophet of the first order.

There was a pastor about 8 yrs ago that had dreams of hurricanes and tornadoes hitting the US. He was right.

Joe 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Hello?

You got the wrong guy and the wrong organization! LOL.

I suppose you would have also done an expose on how God blessed King David and King Solomon?

I rebuke your attack on a wonderful man of God in the name of Jesus Christ. And may God multiply Pat's ministry 10 times over--particularly through the TV, univ and Operation Blessing overseas--for every similar attack. May every weapon formed against him come to naught. May every unGodly attack and insult be turned to his and The Kingdom's benefit. May God be glorified above all in all that Pat does somehow, sooner or later. May God's wisdom and clear anointing and discernment increasingly guide his public pronouncements. In Jesus' Name.

there well may be something as bad as a tsunami in the Pacific Northwest.

It seems it's never ending here at FR...always putting down the well-known different Christians. Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland, Pat Robertson, Benny Hinn...wonder who'll be next? You and I know they're not perfect but give me a break....who is? That's why Jesus came for us all.

I am reminded of the year he prayed a hurricane away from Virginia Beach. Instead it hit New England and killed a bunch of people – because of all the gays up there.

Same difference, lol! Both organizations are run by crackpots and crooks. Need I remind you that Robertson supported Charles Taylor so he could keep his investment in a gold mine.

Did Robertson hear God on this one? I don't know; he says he did. Maybe he really did, maybe not. That's not the point.

No, that's precisely the point.

The idea that God talks to Pat Robertson is the point of these jokes.

AMEN!

GOD HIMSELF chooses His foolishness to confound the wisdom of man. Many self-wise hereon may learn a few things in coming months and years. Humility may het overtake them. Actually, humiliation may well overtake some as well.

Christ led the way in all such!

Thx

Actually, there are some qualitative differences in the two founders and in their organizations.

However, I consider both men of God. But God will end up defending them much better than anyone else can.

It will be interesting to see your life examined with the fine tooth comb you have examined their lives with. I'm sure all of us will learn many things from the illustrations therein.

PERHAPS that's the point from a different perspective.

Perhaps THAT'S GOD'S JOKE--that given that He talks to Pat, He might even be willing to talk to some of the hostile jokers hereon if they were able to lay aside their extreme loftiness for enough seconds--as challenging as that might be.
