Yep, pretty unConstitional. The government trying to defend its borders and control immigration. Where on earth did the federal government think it got that authority?

The border is already militarized.

"The president’s proposed deployment of National Guard troops violates the spirit of the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits the military from getting into the business of civilian law enforcement," says Romero."

Posse Comitatus only limits the use of FEDERAL troops in domestic law enforcement. Doesn't apply to the NG.

This will be thrown out of court if the judge has any sanity left.

There are exceptions to Posse Comitatus.

Click here and scroll a bit for a brief discussion.

Applicable in this case: If the NG is operating under state authority and/or for illegal drug interdiction (which was passed by Congress, BTW, so the folks on the Hill can't plead ignorance).

The Mexicans should know that would be a bad idea.Americans don't react well to being sued by criminals.

The ACLU and Mexico suing the US govt for protecting the borders.

This will not be good for Democrats.

If President Bush doesn't wake up and realize that this is a hostile invasion then I'm afraid we are going to have a bloody war.

I teach ESL students in Texas and I've never encountered so much prejudiced hatred as from a huge percentage of my students, and it's all because I'm a white American woman.

I have to force them to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. It's infuriating.

They hate us and they think that our country really belongs to them, so they have very condescending attitudes toward white people.

Mexico really has a sweet deal. They send us all their misfits and sue us if We don't like it. Time to sour the deal and kick the Illegal Alien Civil Liberties Union (IACLU) out of this country.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, doesn't PC only apply to the feds being used against OUR citizens?

Ya know, they should play this up. The more publicity the better. Have even more marches and protests and shout "Viva Mexico!" Because Washington obviously still hasn't gotten the message.

Well if the ACLU can make up its own rules, perhaps we can make up some of our own. Deport the ACLU.

"Turning immigration enforcement policy into another military operation is not the answer..."

Immigration enforcement? No, this is now about protecting our country against foreign insurgents. It is so much more than an immigration issue. It's a trespass issue.

This just keeps getting more bizarre. Mexico is telling us what we can and cannot do within our own borders and the American Communist Lawyers Union becomes their legal arm.

Contrary to what Bush proclaims (just as he says Islam is a Religion Of Peace), Mexico is not our friend. A "friend" doesn't act like that. Mexico is a corrupt narco-state actively subverting us. It is about time we marched our army to Mexico City again and throw out their crooks and put in our crooks.

I have been covering, ( Or, as Seamole calls it...-backhoe's pseudoblog--... ) psuedo-blogging, for years, a couple of the elements in WWIV ( III being the Cold War ), in which we find ourselves engaged.

The first element?

Islam, a Religion of Peace®? ( links, blogs, quips, quotes, aggravating pictures ) is located here- click the Pic, and scroll backwards:

The other, somewhat interlocking element is this one:

"Thunder on the Border," click the picture:

What is happening under the radar is that the alien lobby, certain elements of radical Islam, and some on the Left share common goals, tactics, and exploitations of our system and society.

See "ANSWER" in the poster?

Work backwards on my links to see all the shady left-wing and terrorist-enabling organizations backing this nonsense.

Have there been other cases where a country sues another country to change their laws? Mexico thinks that it should dictate how this country is run, and too many of our politicians agree.

As for ACLU, it jumps into anything that will damage this country.

Found an interesting analysis of the history of Posse Comitatus.

Doesn't seem encouraging for the ACLU, but obstruction is most likely their principal aim anyway.

The Myth of Posse Comitatus
