"The presidents proposed deployment of National Guard troops violates the spirit of the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits the military from getting into the business of civilian law enforcement," says Romero."
Posse Comitatus only limits the use of FEDERAL troops in domestic law enforcement. Doesn't apply to the NG.

IMHO Protection of the country's boarders is not the job of civilian law enforcement. It is the reason we have a military!!

And Posse Comitatus has been largely diluted anyway.

Who says detaining illegal border crossers is a domestic law enforcement act?
It's clearly an act of international policing, and sovereign protection.

Isn't the immigration law a federal law, and thereby enforceable by federal troops.
Seems I remember hearing recently that the ACLU and Mexico were upset with the Sheriff in Arizona who is arresting illegals based on the new smuggling laws. They thought he should not be enforcing federal law with local officers.
