OCEANSIDE – A man who allegedly pulled over and stabbed two people on a freeway during a road rage incident in Oceanside Sunday was struck and killed by a vehicle as he ran from the scene, authorities said.
Esteban Herrera was pronounced dead at the scene on northbound Interstate 5, south of Mission Avenue, medical examiner Investigator Sal Rodriguez said.
Herrera and the two people were reportedly involved in a road rage altercation and both vehicles pulled over so the occupants could fight, Rodriguez said.
The other two people were taken to Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, which has no trauma center, and were expected to recover, Rodriguez said.

You see, if you have a "Trauma Center", you are subject to many more regulations and inspections, pay more in malpractice insurance, and YOU CAN NOT REFUSE TO TREAT ANY PATIENTS.

medical examiner Investigator Sal Rodriguez Your point? This occurred in greater San Diego, (Spanish for Saint James) , and near Encinitas (Little Live Oaks), and Escondido (Hidden) and not far from San Clemente.
A Hispanic name does not an illegal alien make. Especially Anywhere from Houston to San Diego and points a few hundred miles north.
Still, I wouldn't be overly surprised either. Although the place is quite near Twenty-Nine Palms Marine Base, and lots of Marines have Hispanic surnames too.
That a tremendous proportion of such things have Spanish surnamed perps, wherever they occur. A couple of years ago this was not the case.
