Bush set for immigration speech

BUSH SET FOR IMMIGRATION SPEECH

WHITE HOUSE President Bush is getting set for a prime-time speech on
immigration tomorrow night.

Aides note the 8 p-m, Eastern Time, speech will be the president's first from the Oval Office that does not involve Iraq and the war on terrorism. And they say that reflects Bush's
"passion" on immigration.

He's speaking as the Senate is poised to clear a compromise measure including his idea for a guest worker program. However, a rival House bill is limited to a border crackdown, and meshing the two won't be easy.

Stand Up For America !

"We have room for but one flag, the American flag...
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...
And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Do you think the Supremes think any differently than the senators and president?

New Senate solution: Fence and citizenship
Lawmakers vote for 370-mile border barrier but keep process for illegals to become legal

The U.S. Senate today approved an amendment to the immigration reform bill that would direct the building of a triple-layer fence along 370 miles of the southern border with Mexico.

The Senate also voted down an attempt to remove from the larger bill a provision giving illegal aliens in the U.S. for more than two years a path to become citizens.

People from Atenco carry machetes and burn campaign ads for the country's elections during a Teacher's Day march, May 15, 2006. Less than two months before Mexicans elect their next president, many fear the country is teetering on the edge of chaos, concerns that analysts say could hurt the ruling National Action Party's chances of keeping the presidency. Now wonder why Fox is sending them to us, reminds me of the Muriel Boat quality

This reminded me of a visit to the local California DMV many years ago. Yes, California was the first state IMO to have the illegal problems. I was behind a mexican person who obviously did not speak english and could not pass the test. [this was before everything was also printed in spanish billed to the taxpayers thank you very much] They finally had to pull out flash cards with pictures to get him through. It was maddening then just thinking about how is this guy driving around when he can't even read the signs??

I saw on the news today that the MM have about 6000 volunteers to help build a portion of fence along the border. Fabulous Americans just doing the job the government won't do!!!

"So the illegal mexicans are skilled?? Give me a break. I absolutely cannot believe they can't find employees to work for $18.00/hour!!"

At the moment, I can't remember where the links are. But there are employment agencies, working in conjunction with a branch of the U.S. National Chamber of Commerce in Mexico to hire workers.

The fly in the ointment with all of this is, how does the employment agency, worker and "Coyote" get together? How does the "Coyote" know where to deliver the smuggled human flesh to? If "Homeland Security, FBI, "USDOJ" know about these activities all along...why so silent? Lots of questions to be answered, and dots to be connect. The whole rotten scheme doesn't, nor has ever passed the smell test.

Kinda smacks of the slavery days doesn't it?

Where is the African American community in all of this? One would think they are losing jobs along with many other groups in middle America. I speak to some construction guys weekly because we are doing remodeling. They are mad as hell because many contractors are getting their cheap help from the Lowe's parking lot instead of using the regular guys who have worked construction all their lives.

Anyone who does work here has to prove to me that they are legal. I usually tell them my brother is an ICE agent. :)

A crisis of confidence- During his speech Monday night, President G.W. Bush acknowledged in a breathtaking understatement that, "We do not have full control of the border." If this were the beginning of his first term, and he had expressed a determination to correct the failed policies of a predecessor, that statement might imply no dereliction of duty in his administration. As things stand, it represents an acknowledgement that under his administration the federal government has failed to fulfill one of its clearest and most vital responsibilities. Many Americans are wondering why.

On a side note:

Users running illegal copies of Windows XP are being offered discounted purchase prices.

"Microsoft has updated its website and now allows US users of pirated or counterfeit versions of Windows XP to buy legitimate keys for $149 each. The full version of Microsoft Windows XP Professional retails for $249.99, which means if you purchase the CD and key from Microsoft, there is a net savings of $100."

http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=2333

What's wrong with this picture? Isn't this the same as rewarding illegal aliens for breaking the law?

You see, the problem for MS is that there are TOO MANY folks out there with pirated copies of XP, so what is their answer? Cave in to the criminals. And what makes me laugh, just like with the illegals paying fines, what makes MS think that the thieves will spend $149 so they can run a legit copy when they really don't have to?

You and I pay the price for being honest. Microsoft is now complicit in adding to the problem of rewarding law breakers.

Close your eyes, and imagine...if the Minute Men were dressed like that, and carrying machetes on the Southern Mexican Borders. Then imagine how foaming at the mouth, nuts the MSM, and ACLU would be. Keep your eyes still closed...Next imagine all the Minuter Men (our heros) shackled and being frog marched off to the federal pens. Great world wide news, right...BS

Fast forward after amnesty is granted, and it will be granted. The welcome signs waving and the bells and whistles of Welcome to America "We're Still On Our Feet" Teacher's Day, and machete waving in our streets with Mexican flags higher than the upside American flag. Is this a great culture or what (sarcasm)!!! Grrrr.

Has been, old hard line Black liberals, like Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton are having nightmares. They're having difficulty relating to Black Americans screaming for illegal immigration right-wing cause. Many Blacks that were staunch Democrat's are crossing over and becoming Republican. A plus, for the Republican Party.

I can't ever understand why Blacks were conned into thinking the Democrats ever did anything for them. All Black gains have come from the Republicans. A good example, and sign, was Black homeless activist Ted Hayes, joining with the Minute Men Project. Black Americans have found themselves left out job wise, and are angry. In the long run, there will be more Black Republicans, plus more running for elected office, with Conservative Republican values.
