My general opinion is that of gulfcoast6: Julian Phillipps doesn't know anything, and should be sent to weather reporting in a small market.

#222, you have certainly got that right. There is nothing that the Dems can put into their contract with America that will entice anyone unless they go totally against who they really are, and that will really tick off their crazed base. They can, I suppose alert all their executive Committees and Soros and Move on.Org types that this is just to win back the House and Senate and later the Presidency, and then they will do what ever they want. That will be an impossible thing for them to accomplish because their base consists of people that are so out of it they will not listen to this as a plan, also most Americans know exactly what their Policies are, and they have voted against them for 12 years now in the House and for the better part of the last 20 years in the Senate, and the Presidency for most of the last 40 years.

In all fairness, Anderson Cooper has been a breath of fresh air compared to Aaron Brown. I also read that Ted Turner is buying a Russian TV station. Is that true?

Instead of looking at the amount of spending, we should look at the percentage compared to the economies of the prior administrations

See table 8

Sean's ego has outgrown the size of his head. Savage is (IMO) Bi-polar and jealous of the other talk show hosts. Rush, well Rush is Rush and I think he's great.

He did ignore the facts, once presented to him, that there was as many or more College Grads in the military as anyone.

Correctly stated.

I want to address the timing on all this. And the obvious coordinated effort by all to hype this story.

Monday Bush announces Hayden for job...much talk about his involvement in NSA and the Dems might go after him on it.

Tuesday Hayden is seen meeting with senators on the hill and during press conferences Dems are asked if they are going to grill him on the NSA wire tapping thing. It felt odd but all the Democratic senators were all saying things like " oh well we are just going to look at the man being sent up for us to approve...we will get into that stuff another time". If you watched the newscasts the reporters and the anchors were all saying that it looks like smooth sailing for Hayden.

Wednesday USA Today " reprints" old news as some new revelation about an old program and the Dems act all aghast and need to get to the bottom of this...bla bla blah...

Alot have speculated on the timing because it was meant to derail Hayden. OH quite the contrary...this was a hit piece put out by a paper not exactly in the liberal spotlight like the NYT or the WPO with the expressed purpose of giving the Democrats cover ( because they need to frame the debate first otherwise they lose) so they can now go after Bush ( not Hayden) on this program.

Thursday ABC has an " overnight" poll that confirms what we already know...so what was this poll for and how do we know it was not already in the works? Well the point of the poll was to give the Democrats a " temperature" of the public. The poll was meant to help them find what words and terms they need to use to drive the polls in their favor. This has nothing to do with Hayden. As you will see....even during the Sunday shows Haydens name only came up in passing...the conversations all ended on how all this plays out in '06. Okay now this leads us to Sunday. The New York Times now prints an article showing that Dick Cheyney was demanding domestic spying and phone tapping of basically anyone.... Treason is a big thing. I don't use that term lightly. But these "leaks" are so well timed it is amazing. They always coincide with the agenda of the day for the Democrats. In fact the papers are now offering the Democrats cover because now they can say " well it's not us saying that heck it's in the paper this morning".

I've been screaming about CALEA for weeks now. What do all these nitwits think the CIA, FBI and NSA were doing before the Bush Administration?

Dude... did you LAND the one that was over 6? I have some fishing buddies who tell me all the time about the 6-10 pounders... that shook-off the hook. ;)

Sounds like you're warming-up out there... it's still 'unsettled' up here in the communist-north... too early for plastic worms. 'Gonna try to get out mid-week... in between work & sending out resumes. By summers end I hope to be out'ta this stinking nanny-state!

Here's a shot I took at West Lake a few weeks ago. It's the stream that feeds the lake... beautiful place... not a house for miles.

Arnold is running for re-election and his re-elect numbers are up, and he wants to keep it that way. Governor Rutabaga is running for President and not enough people are telling him that for one thing, he is so disgustingly unattractive that he makes Jimmy Carter look like Tom Sellick in comparison. He is pandering in NM,but we still remember who tried to get Monica out of the Pentagon with job offers, and who was in charge when alamos burned and then they had the huge spy scandal. Yup it was Governor Rutabaga. He has been planning his run for the Presidency since he was Congressman, and learned at the hand of the Liar in Chief and his Liar First Lady in Chief. He figures if horribly crooked and flawed People like his former bosses could be Co- President then why not him.

Years ago, there were bumper stickers available:
Rush is Right
and he's still consistently a voice of rationality. (So is Brit Hume but he doesn't have as much time to express opinion) Also Hugh Hewitt has an excellent program--good interviews and no hysterics such as on Ingraham and Hannity.

I totally agree with you about Fox. I am watching them less and less. If I wanted to hear that liberal garbage I would watch CBS, etc.

I don't read beyond the first paragraph of AP since their spin usually starts there. The only news the media knows about is polls and I am not interested in opinions replacing facts

Great stuff anita! As usual your nuggets are yet another highlight of the thread! Interesting how the new media flourishes while the old-drive by media slowly dies a slow uneventful death, running out of ammunition.

Neal Gabler... I think I despise him more than anyone else...thatis, until I see the next dem or media hack.

The man is a nobody. Don't waste your time. (No one on that goofy Fox show will call him out. In real life, Gabler is most likely a little wuss. You could probably beat the crap out of him)
