Medea Benjamin and Code Pink brought their traveling circus to Bangor today thinking they would go unnoticed.

As Medea said when she saw me there with my signage, "They're everywhere!"

Cool and raining slightly in Bangor. I arrived early to hawk out the site. After about fifteen minutes about 15 of the local Peace and Justice hippies came down the hill and marched toward the parking lot of Olympia Snowe's office building.

They set up in a semi-circle, with Medea out front. As I approached, Medea thinking I was with them, gave out a big warm smile which quickly faded when I held up my sign.

The local earth mother leading the Peace and justice folks slid over to me and put on that simpering liberal woman's smile and asked if I had to do this here and please don't spoil their press conference. I told her that this was my good time and to please not spoil it for me, and she slunk away.

Armymarinemom came to my rescue about then, so we had them outnumbered two to twenty.

I was interviewed by a local tv station and a radio station and told them about Code Pink and Medea bringing money to Faluja, something that all the local reporters present were ignorant of.

None of the reporters even blinked when I went on camera and introduced myself as "George Metesky". What ignoids.

Only 4 photos turned out. My batteries died right in the middle and I lost most of what was taken. Grrrr. I'm officially having a bad day.
The cat that barfed in my shoe right before I left the house is sleeping peacefully at this moment.

I was trying to explain to another FReeper at the beginning of this week, just how banal evil is: it doesn't come at us fangs barred and drooling, but sneaks up and lulls us to sleep until it's too late.

Oh yeah, she's a cutie. She actually hugged me and said, "I love this guy!" I had to shower as soon as I got home.

What is with that woman touching everyone.

It's actually an old confidence game trick, meant to imply, "We're in this together." and induce a sense of intimacy.

Watch during an argument or should I say a dialog. The one who does some touching and gets the other fellow to start nodding his head, usually carries the point.

Well she didn't get me to nod. I probably got a disgusted look on my face. I will be a cold day in hell before I let her call our troops murderers of children and not speak up. At least I didn't let her get away with her yarn about our troops killing children.
