You could run the Mid-Atlantic Region on all the poop coming from the US Congress and US Gov't in DC.

"We call it Underworld. That's where Bartertown gets its energy."
"What, oil? Natural gas?"
"Pigs."
"You mean pigs like those?"
"That's right."
"Bulls**t!"
"No. Pig s**t."
"What?"
"Pig s**t. The lights, the motors, the vehicles, all run by a high-powered gas called methane. And methane cometh from pig s**t."

If we dumped some of the fuel in a Muslim's car, he couldn't drive it or he wouldn't get to heaven.

Theoretically...

I believe that this is the most significant word in the article.

There are millions of processes like this, but only a few ever make it to commercialization. I wish him luck!

This is nothing new, although the pig poop aspect adds a nice TROP twist. See Anything Into Oil, May 2003.

Well, they deserve it for letting their karma run over their dogma.

So does this mean that the Saudi Arabians and their fellow savages are living on the biggest deposits of pig manure in the world? Sweet!

When Ted Kennedy dies, I hear he's going to donate parts of his liver to various power companies in New England. They'll be able to burn it for about 50 years to generate electricity.

Homer: Are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Ham?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Gasoline?
Lisa: Dad, those all come from the same animal.
Homer: Heh heh heh. Ooh, yeah, right, Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

So basically he has invented a pig poop extruder.

I sure would be nice if the gridlock on the freeway smelt like bacon though. MMMMM. Bacon.

Mother of all Revenge indeed, you gotta love that.

Having been around the critters a little, the 3.6 gallons of crude oil a day per pig sounds high to me, though they do poop a lot.

No mention of the most important part of the equation:

What's the production cost per gallon?
