That doesn't stop me from despising him and refusing to watch anything with him in it or on it ever since a few days after 9-11. He is a left wing anti-American who has completely disrespected our Troops and much more.

Depends on how tightly focused the debate is. Remember the Gish Gallop. Debate is the preferred medium for sophists. Normal, honest, people prefer Internet fora, journals, etc, where you can sit back and make comparisons with research, consult coleagues, etc.

Some of the CRIDers, Gish, Ham and Hovind come to mind, have consistently refused to participate in on-line debates or discussions. It's a lot easier to spew five falsehoods a minute, when your opponent needs five minutes just to get the background info together.
