Hey guys and gals, do any of you live in or know of a good place to live in Colorado? Such as, low crime rate, mountains, mid-sized city?
Thanks!

Try Parker or Centenniel, both are near Denver and are really nice bedroom communities. They're quiet, family-oriented areas.

Salida, Canon City, Montrose.
Of course, it's a big state..........are you thinking of the Front Range?

Longmont and Niwot were a great place to grow up in the 50's and 60's but I could not recommend them now.

If you find somewhere you are interested in "knowing about" just look them up at www.epodunk.com. They have lots of details about almost everywhere . . . .

I grew up in Colorado Springs, home of the Air Force Academy. It was a long time ago but I remember it as a great place to live.
Boulder is beautiful but quite expensive.

Steamboat Springs? That would give you access to the mountans, plenty of hiking, skiing, rodeos, and the price range isn't astronomical.
Depends on what you're looking for and what you consider mid-sized. Steamboat has about 10,000 residents.
If you want to go larger, Colorado Springs is more mid-sized and has mountains not far off. It's a bit more suburban.

Should add that while 10,000 residents doesn't sound like much, they do have a lot more amenities/shopping there than you might otherwise expect given the ski resorts.

I second Colorado Springs, especially the north end of town near Black Forest and Monument. I really depends on what you are looking for, how much money you have, and who you want to live near.

Didn't it become known that Boulder is uber-liberal and that the police force and DA's office there aren't too competent during the JonBenet Ramsey case?

Grand Junction was a charming place when I stayed there while visiting Colorado National Monument. That was back in 1976 so it could have changed since then.

Take money, the Californians got there in the late 80's.

I second Canon City, Salida or Montrose. I am considering retiring somewhere in Fremont county.

Rifle, CO is a nice place. I left the gas cap to my dad's truck there once.
