The Kennedy Curse has been self-inflicted for the most part.

Now you know it's not his fault.

Having the Neocons in power drove him to drink, therefor it's not his fault.

There's no "Kennedy Curse." Overall, bad things happen to bad people. There are exceptions, but the Kennedy's haven't beaten the law of averages.

They're just more visible.

If he can't get a handle on his bi-polar illness and addictions, he needs to be pathetic elsewhere - not the US Congress.

some people make bad choices. Kennedy's are masters of not accepting responsibilty for their bad choices.

I'd cry them a river, but they'd just drive a car into it.

How many doped out drunken slobs can one family have?

All normal families have their black sheep, but this is ridiculous!

Oh, the poor victim! Patrick is a victim of addiction, drugs and alcohol...

He has no control over these demons. He has no control over the drive that bedevils him.

So, if Kennedy is a poor, poor victim of the Kennedy curse which seems to involve booze, cars and bodies of water and otherwise, has no control and cannot stop wrecking things, and hitting airline security while he pops pills and binges on alcohol,

how in the heck can anyone trust an out-of-control man to legislate.

If you have a big problem exercising self-control because of your demons, it is in every area of life, not just one.

But, then again, most people in the US don't have the media covering for them, the US Congress gathering around a maimed member and covering good ol' boys, and lots and lots of money.

Fie on the lot of them....I'm coming close to a Patrick Henry moment with this country.

There are more apologists in the MSM for the Kennedys than there are for criminals at an NAACP meeting.

The whole bunch of them should get out of public life and stop inflicting the 'curse' on the rest of us.

Me too ... *victim*?!?!

He's an addict on a Congressman's salary. How many people in his state has a gig that sweet?

If he really wants to earns the term 'victim' let me resign from office first, go to rehab, then start from the bottom of the political ladder again.
That's not the Kennedy way.
The Kennedy way is to cover it up and get the media to cover your tracks.

Just another example of what you get when you cross one drugged and drunken, sodden fool with another.....Patches !!
This poor example of humanity was doomed from the start, but has managed to keep the Kennedy name in the sewer as well as his daddy has, just hasn't killed anyone yet, but he is still relatively young.

His own adult choices cursed him. He should face responsibility for his actions and resign from congress immediately. Then he should seek treatment and take whatever legal penalties are due him. If he does that he'll be much more a man than many in his family including his dad.

The sycophant WP writer is just scripting ala Gollywood scene to conjure up unjustified sympathy for the perennial loser Patrick Kennedy. (Is Patrick Kennedy the one who lost a leg to cancer when he was a teen? Is "Patches" the Kennedy family's nickname for him?)

Rhode Island is a real loser too - a Kennedy satellite.
