Current poll:
"A time for choosing: It appears that a significant number of our members are so disgusted with the GOP's failure to secure our borders against illegal aliens that they are willing to risk all by voting them out of office, even if it means Pelosi, Reid, Hillary, et al, are allowed to take charge. Is this the best course of action or should we be working harder than ever to hold the line and actually try to make a difference by getting more constitutionally-minded conservatives elected? Are you willing to give it all up or are you more determined than ever to keep the Marxists out of power?" _____
So far, 13% of members and 18%+ of participants in this poll say - turn it over to the rats. What's with that? I cannot believe that 13% of those posting here are so stupid or angry with what is happening that they would turn to the rats for the way back to perfect. Now, 13% will result in a winning vote, in a lot of cases.
Anyway, I guess that there is no compromising for some people - just dig a hole and live there while the rats are in charge. I'm so disappointed.
I'm positive that if the GOP doesn't get back to its conservative agenda and stop doing what appeases the liberals, they will be looking at suitcases rather than their DC desks. : )
As an aside, most Americans were righteously angry with France, Russia, and Germany (and still are) for doing the same when the WOT began.
Where is your link that says that more Americans have been killed by illegal immigrants than were killed on 9/11, and all of the battles in the WOT???
I haven't seen those statistics...could you provide your source??
Perhaps instead of castigating the Freepers, you should scream at our incumbants who have just been a huge disappointment.
What do they think they are? Annointed kings and princes?
I won't vote for a rat, but at the rate the GOP is going on most issues, I can't vote for them either. They either grow a pair and vote as people who are NOT beholden to some other power, or lose their jobs.
Free trade be d#amned. Some pie-in-the-sky North American Trading sphere is not my agenda. They are US Congressmen and Senators, not Representatives of Canameximerica!!!!!!
It may well be that more letter-writing to the GOP needs to be done, besides just to the elected officials. I've sent Mehlman an e-mail just last week (again), to my senators and Rep. Tancredo as well (again). I know many people who do this, and don't just complain in FR or other forums.
Specter was an incumbent..i am unaware of the WH strategizing against any incumbent
06 is congressional races - everything you referred to has to do with the executive branch. But, just because I can't let it pass, Bush could have reversed every single EO issued by Clinton. Why did your great conservative principled leader not do this???
So you like paying 56 cents a gallon extra for imported Brazilian ethanol in tariffs? Weird agenda.
Great....then you have a lot more "right" than others to talk, because you are actually doing something about it.
Thanks for what you have done...
What ever reason it is, it's the Republicans that are jeopardizing their political futures since they are expected to take a whack at it.
"...activism" part has been sorely neglected..and instead "complaining" has taken root. "
Excellent point.
One point about Tom. I think I know what you are talking about. It's a little baggage that can be overcome, they'll all have some of it. I still think he's the best chance, all things considered.
I don't vote to preserve my pocket just to trash our sovereignty.
I'm not a RINO and I sure don't believe that money takes precedence unlike some.
Some of these "make the party conservative in the primaries" people are full of it.
You should have seen the wailing and knashing of teeth over an article about the Republican challenger to Chaffee in the primary. Posters were all over themselves to attack the challenger:
"This guy won't win!!! We need Chaffee to beat the dim!"
and "Better Chaffee than a D!!"
If some of these Party-uber-alles people won't even risk losing CHAFFEE, for cripes sakes, what's the point?
You are not thinking big, those big ranches in south Texas have miles of frontage on the Rio Grand River. Think of the cost of building a fence that illegals couldn't climb over or dig under and then maintain it. It's not going to happen. It would be a project for the government if it is possible at all. Maybe drones with cameras and a fleet of helicopters to be available to go when illegals were spotted by the drone. I don't know, the problem is huge.
One thing that would help Tancredo with some freepers is less affiliation with the Buchanans....LOL
Pat Buchanan may be for border control...but he is way far out there on other stuff...like Israel, IMHO>
What are Buchanans? I see that all the time. I know positivily zero about him, yet his name is always brought up.
Didn't know there were levels of evil. That'd be a suprise to many a theologian. As it is, the Republicans nor the Democrats are 'evil'. Stupid, power hungry little trolls (both parties) that would fail if their lives depended on the free market yes. But not evil.
A third party candidate is not feasible due to what our political landscape resembles now and I don't see it changing any time soon
And until some are willing to stand up for what they believe, vote their conscience instead of trying to keep another party out of power, that's exactly what the political 'landscape' will stay. Do I care if the politician I vote for gets into office? Not necessarily. As long as I vote as the Framers intended. To vote for someone who would represent my values if elected to office.
I know, I know. Pat's a little wacky. I've read some of his stuff, a lot of the talk around here is overblown.
But you have a point, Buchanan could prove to be rather cumbersome baggage.
You'd have to make a pretty interesting argument to assert that paying extra for imported ethanol is necessary to maintain our sovereignty.
How exactly does dropping that result in the end of our nation?
Is 56 cents a gallon extra all that stands between us and becoming a Brazilian territory and the end of our constitution?
I need to know, because that sounds important!
Now, those statements are starting to ring true for me.
It reminds me of a Freeper tag line - "the roar of the masses could be farts"!
It sure seems like more than 20% around here are simply pissed off an anything that Republicans do, as well as Democrats - but, I can see the why on the Democrat side. They don't seem to be smart enough to acknowledge that anything that Republicans try to do - the rats are on it like flies on poop. Well, lately it has been poop - but it's the only game in town and that game needs to be played skillfully with an occasional win that moves the conservative and party values forward sometimes all there is in the real world.
I guess I'm just way too upset at seeing the now 20% vote - on this site - for allowing the rats to run this thing down to hell. I'm also feeling a little lucky to not be one of those posters that "needed" to vote for the rats for whatever strange, stupid and blind reason.
I lost my only son (he was a Marine) - my only child and that "event" adds to my reasons for not wanting the rats to take over - he also would not want to see that happen - I'm hoping that he "can see" and "knows" that we continue to be on the right path, slowly moving back to the future in some ways and forward to the future in others. We cannot allow the really stupid and lame people on either side to take over no matter how loud they get, even here. Now, once again, I admire all conservatives - but the one or two issue conservatives need to get a life beyond those issues and not work against the only political party that even cares about doing the right thing.
If, however, after it is known that certain senators are getting letters, calls, and faxes (and I know many here have done that), yet those calls and letters are ignored, people have a right to become angry when we continue to see "more of the same, different day," imho.
How many times have we seen real knock-down, drag-out fights about the precise wording of this poll or that one?? And FR has reduced itself to even worse wording in a poll that's DESIGNED to be misleading.
This poll is FAR beneath FR standards.
I'm one of the 13% (though I refused to vote in such a ridiculously worded poll).
The argument that if I don't vote for a RINO, I elect a Dem simply doesn't work with me anymore. I've voted that direction in the last half-dozen elections and I'm tired of it.
I'll vote Constitutional Party this year if that amnesty passes, so you Repub-bots better hope that the illegals vote for the party, cause I won't. They don't represent what I and my family believe so why should I vote for a party that's barely to the right of a liberal?
If this is the best poll that FR can present to manipulate opinion, I won't participate in them in the future either.
