You'd have to make a pretty interesting argument to assert that paying extra for imported ethanol is necessary to maintain our sovereignty.
How exactly does dropping that result in the end of our nation?
Is 56 cents a gallon extra all that stands between us and becoming a Brazilian territory and the end of our constitution?
