THE KENNEDY TRADITION (cut and run, and disgrace public office)

After his second smash-up in three weeks - and a lot of unanswered questions about an alleged police cover-up - Rep. Patrick Kennedy yesterday declared that he's entering rehab to deal with an addiction to painkillers. This was hardly the congressman's first such incident. And he was in rehab just last Christmas.......the son of Sen. Ted Kennedy, said he doesn't remember anything about the incident, but that he's "deeply concerned." (At least no one died in the back seat.) The congressman crashed the car he was driving at 2:45 a.m. into a Capitol Hill traffic barrier after he narrowly averted broadsiding a cop cruiser.
He'd been speeding (in the wrong lane) and did not have his headlights on, cops said. A police report says his eyes were "red and watery," he was unsteady on his feet and his speech was "slightly slurred" - in short, it said, Kennedy was clearly driving under the influence. But under the influence of what?
Kennedy's latest fender-bender follows an April 15 accident with a car he apparently cut off. (Police did not publicize the incident, but a Boston paper found out 10 days later.) In recent years, he was accused of assaulting a Los Angeles airport guard after he tried to squeeze an oversize piece of luggage through a metal detector. Kennedy admitted he'd been rude and offered to settle the case for $25,000. Soon after, he was accused of causing $28,000 worth of damage to a rented yacht in Martha's Vineyard; his insurance company paid off the owner. At about the same time, the Coast Guard was called in to escort a female friend off the yacht following a heated argument.

My opinion of New England is that they are downright stupid for putting these fools into office. The proof of this is the US census. With each passing decade the electoral strength of New England declines while the south and west increases. Mostly fools remain and they vote rat.

If those dummies from MassPlease, gimme a break. We dumped him on the good the people of Rhode Island. Which reminds me of something said about Huey Long. A contemporary Senator noted that Caligula appointed his favorite horse (Incitus, "sexually aroused") to the Senate, but at least he had the good sense to appoint the entire horse.

Ohhh... it gets even better.
On the Today show this morning they start off by saying, "The Kennedy's are the most revered family in America." They then go on to talk about how Patrick's mother is a known alcholic. No mention of his sainted father killing a girl due to his excessive drinking.
Again, the MSM continues to show why they are not respected anymore.
Sheesh!

Exactly! People get the government they deserve. Unfortunately, it's much more like
"We get the government they deserve."

we have civil unions where the parts don't fit, and we have a socialist rep. Flip to Appendix B of the assembly manual for alternative instructions.

I certainly am not, and I moved away from Rhode Island largely because it is such a corrupt place. I am also first generation Irish Catholic, and I can tell you that so many people just like me cringe whenever somebody brings up the Kennedys. Any of them.
You can also ask anyone from Falmouth or Woods Hole how they feel about those people. Rent jumping deadbeats is what you will hear.
I am only surprised that they haven't hidden behind the Catholic faith, as they usually do. They are famous for parading behind funeral processions, and yet, nobody says a word about how they cremated John Jr. and threw his ashes off the back of a Navy destroyer only hours after he was found dead. That family didn't want anyone looking into John Jr.'s death...and BTW, there were two dead women (sisters) in that plane. One was Mrs. John Jr.
The Kennedy are lying murderers, corrupt politicians, above everyone else, and you thinks some welfare bums from Pawtucket are going to throw them out of office? Never.

Rhode Island...another state that should be voted off the island. Too bad the Founders didn't write such a mechanism into the Constitution. < /alert="cheesy pun">
As it is, it can be done only by an act of Providence.

They fully believe they are superior to all of us ordinary mortals and unaccountable to ordinary law and morality, a belief on which they regularly act.
They have a reason for the belief that they are above ordinary mortals (at least in MA and RI)--generations of idiots from Massachusetts and Rhode Island keep re-electing them!

Rhode Island was better when it was run by the Mafia. :) It certainly has some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten.

Apparently his ever-changing story now claims he went home to bed after a midnight vote---then got up about 3:00AM, crashed into the barricade, and told police he was speeding b/c he was late for a vote......but remembers none of this.

Coverage of this slime-bucket is yet another of the endless series of proofs of media bias.
Will one Democrat or one liberal anywhere diss this guy?

The Feds have had some serious busts of Mafia folks in Rhode Island in recent years--but I wouldn't celebrate just yet.
Don't forget that the Kennedy family started as an organized crime family. Organized crime is sort of like being a spy--the only way you retire is in a box.

Mustangs, Crown Victorias, I wonder what environmentalist RFK Jr. has to say about members of his very own liberal family driving around in these infernal gas-guzzlers? Nothing probably.
