THE KENNEDY TRADITION (cut and run, and disgrace public office)
NY POST ^ | May 6, 2006 | EDITORIAL

Posted on 05/06/2006 5:06:53 AM PDT by Liz

After his second smash-up in three weeks - and a lot of unanswered questions about an alleged police cover-up - Rep. Patrick Kennedy yesterday declared that he's entering rehab to deal with an addiction to painkillers. This was hardly the congressman's first such incident. And he was in rehab just last Christmas.......the son of Sen. Ted Kennedy, said he doesn't remember anything about the incident, but that he's "deeply concerned." (At least no one died in the back seat.) The congressman crashed the car he was driving at 2:45 a.m. into a Capitol Hill traffic barrier after he narrowly averted broadsiding a cop cruiser.

He'd been speeding (in the wrong lane) and did not have his headlights on, cops said. A police report says his eyes were "red and watery," he was unsteady on his feet and his speech was "slightly slurred" - in short, it said, Kennedy was clearly driving under the influence. But under the influence of what?

Kennedy's latest fender-bender follows an April 15 accident with a car he apparently cut off. (Police did not publicize the incident, but a Boston paper found out 10 days later.) In recent years, he was accused of assaulting a Los Angeles airport guard after he tried to squeeze an oversize piece of luggage through a metal detector. Kennedy admitted he'd been rude and offered to settle the case for $25,000. Soon after, he was accused of causing $28,000 worth of damage to a rented yacht in Martha's Vineyard; his insurance company paid off the owner. At about the same time, the Coast Guard was called in to escort a female friend off the yacht following a heated argument.

Democrats will reelect this rehab loser by an overwhelming majority this fall. That will tell you all you have to know about the Democrat Party.

If his last name were Bush, this would be all over the news about a "Bush family culture of addiction."

But since it is a Kennedy, it is "hush, hush."

I just heard a couple of his constituents being interviewed on the radio, both women, both praising him for being "so courageous" for admitting he has a problem, BARF, BARF, BARF, typical kennedy nonsense, commit a crime, run and hide and have someone else do your talking AND get re-elected overwhelming! Makes me ill.......

The saddest thing about these no-account Kennedy people is that they are in elected positions of LEADERSHIP. As a member of the active duty military, nothing gets my blood boiling faster than terrible leadership.

The Kennedy clan should have their photos next to the word "Irresponsibility."

DUIs and Drugged Driving are behavioral patterns of idiots, not competent leaders.

The article didn't need to go any further.

Freepers,

give this poor bastard a break! he can't help it; drinking, drugs, womanizing, lying about it, is embedded in his genes and DNA.

Besides it's Bush's fault, had Prez Bush been pro-choice, the entire Kennedy clan could have been.... never mind!

MSM will provide a true account of events within the next few days.

My husband has talked with two Massachusetts people in different settings here in Texas and they are truly offended if you speak ill of the Kennedy's. The only thing that my husband can come up with as to a reason is they feel the Kennedy's, Ted mostly, have brought home the bacon to their state. It's truly a puzzle and I wonder what that bacon is?

There is no way this third-rate Kennedy would get elected dog catcher if his name was Jones. His daddy bought him an office in the state nearby, just as Old Joe made sure little Teddy Dumb-Dumb was taken care of after JFK and RFK were elected. Rhode Islanders are very sentimental about anything Kennedy. It's bizarre.

Lies and deception (and the appropriate cover-up that follows) are a Kennedy family tradition.
Harry Truman called old Joe Kennedy one of the biggest crooks in the history of Wall Street.
John Kennedy connived in the theft of the 1960 Presidential election.
Ted Kennedy's lies are too well know to require repeating.
Now, this latest example.
The Kennedy's have the same mindset as Napoleon, who that he was not like other men and that the rules which apply to others did not apply to him.

EXACTLY!! Any sentence starting with "Kennedy(insert any first name) was clearly driving".......needs no explanation!
