FReeper Canteen ~ Canteen Music Jukebox For Our Troops ~ 06 May 2006

Star Spangled Banner
Click for our National Anthem!
(remove your caps please!)

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?

Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'T is the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us as a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

The Canteen Jukeboxes

Good evening everyone!!

Welcome to another weekend of music for our Troops, Veterans, and their families!
Last week we began bringing you the Canteen Jukeboxes!
Many of you liked them, but many of you were still confused about what to do.
We will go over everything again and we hope to keep working out any issues for the future.

The MP3 Flash Jukebox was created by JEROENWIJERING.COM

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!

Below are just a few of the Canteen Jukeboxes we have tonight!
Look for more throughout the thread!
If you have any questions, please FReepmail us and ask!

You can request music for our Troops on the thread, via FReepmail, or email us at musicrequests4u@gmail.com

For this weekend only:

Please ping one of the Canteen Deejays for any music requests!
Also, ping MoJo2001 or Kathy In Alaska to be added/removed from the Canteen Music Ping List!!

The Canteen Jukeboxes

1. If you'd like to listen to the Jukeboxes and surf the Canteen or FR, just hold the Control key down and then hit the letter N on your keyboard. That will open another window. This will allow you to listen and FReep at the same time. How convenient, huh?

2. Many of the jukeboxes will not automatically start. You will have to double click a song to start the jukebox. Also, not all music is appropriate for children.

3. We have also removed the links on the jukeboxes that take you to the jukebox creators page. We know a few of you were disturbed by the playlist.
However, we do ask that you take a chance one of these days to check out his site.
You can do so here. He created a fabulous player!!

4. As we experiment with the jukeboxes, we'll try to figure out how to control the scrolling. There may not be a solution, but hopefully you will get used to it.

5. Many of the Canteen Deejays are still experimenting with the jukeboxes. Please be patient.

6. The Canteen Jukeboxes offer different genres. If you don't find it at the Top of the Thread, you can most certainly find them throughout the thread.
For example, if you are looking for Hard Rock/Heavy Metal/Alternative...make sure to locate AZAmericonnie.

7. If you have a suggestion for a *themed* jukebox, please let one of our Canteen Deejays know about it. We might be able to feature it the next week.

Just to get you started!

Mainstream Jukebox
*This jukebox is not for kids or Ma! This has a current music playlist!

Legends 1
*This jukebox features a tribute to Bob Seger's music!

Legends 2
*This jukebox features a tribute to both of Genesis' lead singers!

Legends 3
*This jukebox features a tribute to Robert Johnson

Patriotic Jukebox
*This jukebox features patriotic music that honors America!

90s Jukebox
*This jukebox features music from the 90s!
Click with caution. Not all music is appropriate for kids or Ma!

Enjoy the music!!

LOL! Thanks for resizing that picture. His shot was soooooo big all my freckles showed. Shame on my Big Brother!

That gun weighed a ton! It took the 2 of us just to hold it.

It was a fun day!

Good Morning troops! Good Morning everyone! It's my little brother's birthday today. From the family he got a radio controlled airplane and two computer games. He's on his computer right now playing his new Star Wars game. We'll be taking him to Applebee's for dinner tonight and then home for a slice of birthday cake. In the meantime, here's today's humor attempt!

A Teenager is...

A person who can't remember to walk the dog but never forgets a phone number.

A weight watcher who goes on a diet by giving up candy bars before breakfast.

A youngster who receives his/her allowance on Monday, spends it on Tuesday, and borrows from his/her best friend on Wednesday.

Someone who can hear a song by Madonna played three blocks away but not his mother calling from the next room.

A whiz who can operate the latest computer without a lesson but can't make a bed.

A student who will spend 12 minutes studying for her history exam and 12 hours for her driver's license.

A youngster who is well informed about anything he doesn't have to study.

An enthusiast who has the energy to ride a bike for miles, but is usually too tired to dry the dishes.

A connoisseur of two kinds of fine music: Loud and Very Loud.

A young woman who loves the cat and tolerates her brother. (How very very true)

A person who is always late for dinner but always on time for a rock concert.

A romantic who never falls in love more than once a week.

A budding beauty who never smiles until her braces come off.

A boy who can sleep until noon on any Saturday when he suspects the lawn needs mowing.

An original thinker who is positive that her mother was never a teenager.

Hi, Lady Jag:

I wish the handsome devil was mine!

Evidently, there's a Cat~Blogging site dedicated to posting photos of specific cats from kittens on up. Someone at another site found two great shots and posted them in tandem.

I looked them over and a story started to take shape.

My "brood" consists of two gray and black Tabbie, a gray Maine Coot and a plump solid black Persian who drop by for the dry food and water I leave out.

Thumper, Blitzen, Scaredy and Tux.

Once I decide on a Digital Camera, I'll start photographing them.

Jack.

Get a little Olympus one that covers the lens when you shut it off. One small enough that you'll take it with you. I have a bunch of cameras, both digi and 35. Some of them are a bit fancy, but it is always the little ones that I have with me.

Thanks for posting Biggest-Little, Best-Known, Unknown type music - I love to listen to new or old stuff that I've not heard before - there is simply a lot of talent out there and it's clear that you have had the opportunity and taken the time to looks at a lot of it.

Your posts/music is appreciated.

Hi Jack! Cute kitty :)

It seems to go on Forever, Nature's Hissy~Fit The rain sound soothing, but I don't like Thunder one little bit! Up close, it's loud and most frightening sound

The clash of thunder has many pets scurrying under the bed.
