We are honored to provide a source of entertainment for our Troops, Veterans, and their families. If you are just a supporter of our Troops, we also welcome you!
We have been here every weekend for the past 3 years providing entertainment for our Troops, Veterans, and their families. And despite reports elsewhere--it has come at our own expense and not to our Troops.

Welcome to another weekend of music for our Troops, Veterans, and their families!
Last week we began bringing you the Canteen Jukeboxes!
Many of you liked them, but many of you were still confused about what to do.
We will go over everything again and we hope to keep working out any issues for the future.

The Canteen Jukeboxes

1. If you'd like to listen to the Jukeboxes and surf the Canteen or FR, just hold the Control key down and then hit the letter N on your keyboard. That will open another window. This will allow you to listen and FReep at the same time. How convenient, huh?

2. Many of the jukeboxes will not automatically start. You will have to double click a song to start the jukebox. Also, not all music is appropriate for children.

3. We have also removed the links on the jukeboxes that take you to the jukebox creators page. We know a few of you were disturbed by the playlist.
However, we do ask that you take a chance one of these days to check out his site.
You can do so here. He created a fabulous player!!

4. As we experiment with the jukeboxes, we'll try to figure out how to control the scrolling. There may not be a solution, but hopefully you will get used to it.

5. Many of the Canteen Deejays are still experimenting with the jukeboxes. Please be patient.

6. The Canteen Jukeboxes offer different genres. If you don't find it at the Top of the Thread, you can most certainly find them throughout the thread.
For example, if you are looking for Hard Rock/Heavy Metal/Alternative...make sure to locate AZAmericonnie.

7. If you have a suggestion for a *themed* jukebox, please let one of our Canteen Deejays know about it. We might be able to feature it the next week.

A Story Told In Pictures





When I was a Kitten, I was afraid of everything
Being the smallest thing in every room may be considered "Darling"
When tables and chairs tower over you, it's sometimes hard to cope
Though when Curiosity meets Innocence, there's always a flicker of hope!

Late at night when My Pretty One was asleep
I learned what happens when a Kitten stretches, rears up and leaps
Oh, mistakes were made as I'd fall and get up off the floor
But I had a goal to conquer and failing made me want it more!

There were moments when My Pretty One was sure I was anchored to the ground
Then I would fly up upon an empty chair in a sure and fluid bound
Then stretch and peek over the Table Top to smile and see
The shocked surprise of My Pretty One's face as she'd gasp and smile at me!





That seems so very long ago for this Brave and Fearless Cat
I've grown stronger, taller and wiser and very little is fat
The things I'd scale as a Kitten in three leaps now require but one
Though I get there much more quickly, it's really not as much fun

Every day presented a challenge when I was a wide eyed, inquisitive ball
If I were to try to climb the curtains again, with my size we'd surely fall
Tables and chair, the couch and bed are easy prey for a Cat that knows his Space
And if I keep searching High and Low, I'll find a Brand New Favorite Place!

The furniture has moved and changed, though the new things haven't really grown in size
Climbing to the top of the Book Case is still my Cherished Prize
The Pretty One still smiles at my Feline Gymnastics as She watches from Her chair
Overall, I'd say they We are a well matched and very comfortable pair!
