Just flashed on Fox, jury has a verdict, to be read at 4:30PM EST!
Do you know if ZM will have access to mail and/or visitors?
BTW, love the nickname! Scalia rules!
You are correct. His demeanor will determine his privileges. If good.....
He'll be in 23 hour a day lock-down. He'll get one hour of exercise a day in a cage, he'll be put in arm restraints (and possibly leg restraints, depending on his demeanor) to and from the exercise area. He'll get shackled to and from the shower, which he will be allowed every three days. He will be provided the same food as other prisoners, if he decides to throw his food at the correctional officers he will be provided a food loaf...same food, but processed in a blender then baked with bisquick.
He will be allowed reading materials, delivered from the library. He will be allowed to shave with a razor that is inventoried and handed to him by his CO on entrance and exit to the shower. He will have full access to his lawyers, through a isolation booth during regular visiting hours. He will have a TV, 2 pairs of under ware, 2 pairs of socks, 1 blanket, 1 set of sheets, 1 pair of inmate clothing and 1 religious book in his cell.
That's the good life. If he is bad....he will will have a reduction in the above privileges....all the way to a paper gown and a CO staring at him, 24 hours a day. Suicide IS NOT an option.....
Repeat, ad nauseum.....forever.
Frankly, it's the worst fate imaginable....and yes....I'm a CO.
This guy wanted death and he didn't get it. He was, at best, an only marginal figure in the 9/11 conspiracy, and a death sentence would have made him an important part of it. I'm glad to hear that he didn't get what he wanted.
No aurgument from me. But usually after the 3rd, 4th....10th.....20ith year, inmates start getting really bored and start acting up. Then they get the paper gown and nada in their cell....no TV, no library......they do get to see their lawyer. After year 25......they usually just vegetate....
I'll add that some people, like goofball Moussaoui, want to die. He won't be allowed the opportunity, ever. He'll have infidels dictating his every move, up to and including bowel movements.....for the rest of his life. May he live long.....
He should have to watch "Survivor" every single day for the rest of his life. Or would that be cruel and unusual punishment.
If Moussaoui had been sentenced to death, he still would have claimed that he won and America lost, playing the martyr's role to the hilt.
The upside here is that there won't be any more terrorists put on trial, once enough evidence exists to bring charges, CIA or SOF will deliver sentence, 5 in the head. Not that we needed the lesson, Clinton's entire 8 years stands as stark proof of the idiocy of prosecuting terrorists under the criminal justice system.
Lots of mountains around Canon City. If Moussaoui values his head over pink mist, perhaps he should decline his outdoor exercise sessions.
I believe you are correct. islamofacists didn't get a martyr and Moussaoui get's to contemplate his big mouth and heated rhetoric for the next.....oh......60 years or so. In 1 year he'll be nothing. In 10 years he'll be more than nothing. In 20 years......he'll be begging infidels for more TV time......in 30 years.......
Does this verdict indicate the death of decency or that WE have forgotten what happened on 9/11. I don't think so. It was one case, one jury. We have executed other terrorists. Heck we executed McVeigh.
His access to anything that would be physically harmful will no doubt be extremely limited. However, I would imagine that many inmates at these facilities would at least attempt suicide.
Goodness, I signed off just before you posted. Sorry for the delayed response, but I suppose I could make a pretty accurate guess on which way the jury's going to go now. LOL!
Great to see you too. Hope all is well.
All it takes to limit the sentence to life in prison is one dumb ass.
The prosecution had to overcome some idiocy by government officials, a judge that was somewhat hostile, and convince each and every one of the jurors to agree to have him put to death.
There are people who are simply opposed to the death sentence, and the chances of getting one such person on a jury just aren't that low.
6. How long before something is hijacked with demands from the hijackers for his release?
You are right on. We have lost our will. I don't know what to say.
Looks like are going to have to be hit again, hard, to snap out of it.
Put the SOB out in the recreation yard with some of the Aryan Nation dudes. I don't think we'll have to worry about any outside demands for his release.
Screw that. I say we make ALL of the matryrs.
Good choice. He should rot. I say drive him to take his own life. He's not going to have any prison guard buddies. He should be living a singularly lonely existence, no access to news FOR SURE. They better make damn sure on that. He ought not get any feeling of notoriety or continuing relevancy.
