Axis Sally was sentenced for treason after WWII. She was an American born Nazi propaganda broadcaster.

She was released and later served as a private school teacher in the US.

So he was taking flying lessons and not wanting to learn how to land the plane was simply a lark according to YOUR impression.

Very interesting!

We're going to pay millions to keep him in prison (estimate is $100,000 a year and we all know about inflation).

That's true. All true. With everything that is going on now in our country, I'm afraid there's no hope for us. Only prayer at this point.

Moussaoui will beome the ringleader of the biggest baddest Al Qaeda gang in prison. He will have tons of militant muslim recuruits in prison to shmooze.

I'm definitely in favor of the death penalty for all murderers and I consider him one even though the jury didn't agree. But to qualify that, I think there might be some justification to lock him up for the rest of his life in solitary. The thing that bothers me about it is many of the judges we have are bleeding hearts and we don't know what will happen 10 or 20 years down the road.

Justifying the verdict and suggesting it's fair because after all he himself didn't kill anyone.

ZM should have been killed by a firing squad on 9/12/01.

That having been said, he's not guilty of any civil capital offense, and it would have been a travesty for a jury to lynch him.

I believe in jury nullification, but not the reverse. That is, a civil jury should not be able to kill you for offenses not charged.

ZM's offense was a crime against the laws and usages of war, not the US Code. Because he was out of uniform and behind our lines, he is not entitled to the protection of the Geneva Convention. Per ex parte Quirin (1942), the President has plenary authority to either put him before a military tribunal (NOT a court martial), or order him killed without further proceedings.

When Americans are taken hostage to bargain for ZM's release, it will be the fault of whoever decided on this farce of a civil trial to begin with.

ZM should have been stood up against a wall at the corner of Rector Street and Lower Broadway at dawn on 9/12/01, and shot.

Everything since then has been a manifestation of contemptible weakness.

The weakness is manifested in the palpable fear of the power of our media.

We must not cater to their anti-Americanism.

I'm worried about the Muslim mind. They won't perceive this decision as mercy or justice, but weakness. You don't think the muslims in prison will surround him with a wall of protection? You don't think there will hostages taken and threatened with death or mutilation, that we will be threatened with terrorist acts in order to force his release?

Because that's exactly what it is.

That's right our enemies, bent on our destruction will perceive it as weakness that we let this sub-human scum walk out saying "I win, you lose!" I blame the hand ringing, panty wearing, pussy liberals, who can't handle the truth! Pick me for that jury! Those lawyers must have passed over every potential juror with a spine!

The libs are, even as we speak, making it possible for him to vote, from prison.

Just whom are our enemies though, the liberals or the radicals. Same difference.

I didn't say anything like that. I'm sorry you are upset about this but it doesn't help to distort what I said.

Why don't you blame the pussy liberal who decided not to have ZM shot on 9/12/01, as was our perfect right under the laws and usages of war? Why don't you blame the pussy liberal who decided on this farce of a civil trial, with a perfectly predictable outcome, to begin with?

And by "pick me for that jury", do you mean that you would vote to execute someone for offenses not charged, because your government was too weak and stupid to do the job right?

Not my preference (which listed above) but death sentances often are carried out quicker in prison than on death row

That a widespread myth. Totally naive. Want to know Moussaui's reaction?

MOUSSAUI IN COURT TODAY: "America, you lost."

The monster gets it. Sadly, many if not most of our own citizens do not.

I say he gets put in with the general prison population one day a year.

September 11 works for me.

Then we'll see who lost.

In real life, Moussaui can write letters, have visitors, arrange for payoffs, and do other things with the potential to create havoc.

Too true. And he will find many people, both inside and out, willing to help him do just that. I am a translator and attended a conference where the Egyptian translator for the nutcase blind sheik was virtually boasting about having helped him when he was in jail in NJ awaiting trial in the WTC bombing. (Fortunately, the translator is now languishing in jail, because he boasted too much and it turned out that the jail had tapes of him getting his orders from the sheik and falsifying his translations to the authorities.)

Moussaoui is going to be a threat as long as he's alive.
